‘Scream’ Actor C.W. Morgan Passes Away at 72, Played Billy Loomis’ Father

C.W. Morgan, best known for playing Billy Loomis’ father in the original Scream movie, has sadly passed away.
The actor was 72 years old.
C.W. passed away on August 30 in Los Angeles County, according to medical examiner records obtained by TMZ. News of his passing was first reported on Thursday (October 8).
His cause of passing has not been determined publicly.
Who did C.W. Morgan play in Scream?
C.W. played Hank Loomis in the original 1996 horror movie, directed by Wes Craven.
Hank was the father of Billy Loomis, played by Skeet Ulrich, who was revealed to be one of the movie’s Ghostface killers.
In the film, Hank appears while Billy is being questioned by police and defends his son.
The character also has an important connection to Sidney Prescott’s (Neve Campbell) family. Hank had an affair with Sidney’s mother, Maureen Prescott, which played a part in the events leading up to the original movie.
C.W. later appeared briefly in Scream 3, which was released in 2000.
The actor also had television credits, including appearances in Midnight Caller and Nash Bridges.
Earlier this week, Skeet Ulrich discussed why another return to the Scream franchise would be difficult without one of the stars of the series.
C.W. Morgan’s daughter shares tribute
C.W.‘s daughter, Renata Macfie, also shared a personal tribute on Facebook following his passing.
She remembered their drives along Mulholland Drive, their Starbucks outings and the sense of humor she inherited from her father.
She also expressed how much she would miss him and how grateful she was for their time together.
“Rest easy bubby. Life will never be the same without you and your poorly timed jokes that I inherited from you. Love you endlessly ( no more fighting about that anymore I win),” she wrote.
