Amanda Seyfried is opening up about recently passing on a potential new television role.

The 40-year-old actress may be more known for being a movie star, but she also has several TV credits to her name, including her most recent show, Long Bright River, as well as The Crowded Room, The Dropout, Twin Peaks, and Big Love.

However, while appearing on a panel at the Hamptons International Film Festival earlier this month, Amanda revealed she passed on a new TV role for one major reason.

Why Amanda Seyfried turned down a TV role

“I passed on a show where I would have to have sex all the time because of the sex,” she said, via People. “Doesn’t matter [who it’s with] … I don’t wanna do it. I’m uncomfortable with it. I’m not into it right now.”

“Maybe if [the project] came along again [at a later point], maybe I’d be in a different space. But I don’t wanna deal with being naked with a stranger,” Amanda added.

The actress explained to panel host Alec Baldwin that her thoughts on portraying intimate scenes on screen has changed as she’s gotten older.

“Sometimes it’s great. Sometimes it’s really uncomfortable. But I can’t believe back in the day I was just like, ‘We gotta make out. Great! This is awesome. I know how to make out,” she said with a laugh.

“And it used to be so fun,” Amanda added. “It was a non-thing. It was like, ‘I get to make out with a hot person today … And they’re paying me.’”
