‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Singer EJAE Marries Samuel Kim in Seoul Wedding, HUNTR/X Co-Stars Attend
EJAE is officially married!
The 34-year-old singer-songwriter, who provides the singing voice of Rumi in Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, tied the knot with longtime partner Samuel Kim on Saturday (October 17) in Seoul, South Korea.
The couple exchanged vows at Stage 28, a venue with a special connection to EJAE‘s family, and her fellow HUNTR/X singers Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami were among the guests.
The newlyweds shared details about their celebration in an exclusive Vogue wedding feature, published Monday (October 19).
Inside EJAE and Samuel Kim’s Wedding in Seoul
EJAE and Samuel, who goes by Sam, originally planned to marry in California in November 2026, but decided to move their wedding to South Korea and hold the ceremony a month earlier.
They exchanged vows at Stage 28, which was once home to EJAE‘s grandparents.
The singer told Vogue that she spent much of her childhood exploring the property’s garden and walking through the nearby hills with her grandfather. Her brother also previously held his wedding at the venue.
The celebrations began with a traditional Korean Paebaek ceremony and welcome party at Congdu50, followed by the wedding ceremony on October 17.
According to Brides.com, a traditional Paebaek ceremony can include formal bowing, a tea ceremony, and the couple catching chestnuts and dates, symbolizing hope for children.
For the big day, EJAE wore a custom wedding gown by Danielle Frankel, featuring layers of tulle and a strapless neckline. She later changed into a custom Zac Posen design for the reception, followed by a sparkling Milla Nova mini dress for dancing.
Sam wore a bespoke tuxedo from Bhambi’s Custom Tailors and later changed into a white tuxedo designed by Zac Posen.
Among the guests were Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, who perform alongside EJAE as the singing voices of HUNTR/X in KPop Demon Hunters.
The couple celebrated with a reception featuring live music, speeches in English and Korean, and Korean street food. They later continued the party with a smaller group in Seoul’s Itaewon neighborhood.

How Did EJAE and Samuel Kim Meet?
EJAE and Sam first met in May 2017 after a mutual friend arranged a songwriting session at his home studio.
The two connected over their shared interests in music and anime, and their professional relationship eventually turned romantic.
After eight years together, Sam proposed on June 1, 2025, during a surprise picnic in a Brooklyn park where the couple had often walked EJAE‘s late dog, Honey.
“When we turned a corner, all our friends had set up a picnic with photos of us and our dog all around,” she recalled to Vogue.
Their engagement came shortly before the release of KPop Demon Hunters, which brought EJAE international recognition through her work on the hit song “Golden.”
