Oscar-winning scribe, Milk writer Dustin Lance Black, enjoys a cup of coffee with a friend in West Hollywood on Wednesday (February 25).

The 34-year-old screenwriter accepted the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay on Sunday. His acceptance speech was censored in fifty different Asian nations by pan-Asian satellite TV network STAR, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch‘s News Corporation.

STAR spokeswoman Jannie Poon defended the network’s muting of the words “gay” and “lesbian” by saying STAR has “a responsibility to take the sensitivities and guidelines of all our markets into consideration.”

Here’s Dustin‘s uncensored speech in its entirety: “This was was not an easy film to make. First off, I have to thank Cleve Jones and Anne Kronenberg and all the real-life people who shared their stories with me. Gus Van Sant, Sean Penn, Emile Hirsch, Josh Brolin, James Franco and our entire cast, my producers Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen, everyone at Groundswell and Focus for taking on the challenge of telling this life-saving story. When I was 13-years-old, my beautiful mother and my father moved me from a conservative Mormon home in San Antonio, Texas to California, and I heard the story of Harvey Milk. And it gave me hope. It gave me the hope to live my life. It gave me the hope one day I could live my life openly as who I am and then maybe even I could even fall in love and one day get married.

John Mayer attended the 2009 Oscars with girlfriend Jennifer Aniston on Sunday and admits he was “very, very nervous.”

Here’s what he spilled on Ryan Seacrest‘s KIIS-FM radio show while promoting his cruise line, the Mayercraft Carrier 2 [via Us]:

On not really fitting in on the red carpet: “It’s not my world, the Oscar thing. You can go from a Grammy winner to a water boy when you walk in the Kodak Theatre on Oscar night. That’s just like a whole different level… So the idea of walking down a red carpet is such … you know that forever, I basically stepped into the picture frame of Hollywood. For one night, I put on the most amazing suit and entered into the picture frame. You have to really be with someone that you know who has your back in that situation, and she did, and it was really great.”

On using Jen’s connections to meet people: “[I asked Jen,] ‘Will you please introduce me to so-and-so?’ It was really, really fun.”

On needing to grow up a little: “As men, we’re incredibly sensitive about the decisions that we make with the women that we’re with. I’m the kind of person who’s like: If I’m going out with a friend who’s bringing a woman and that friend brings another friend and I have to sit on one side of the table with that other person I don’t know, I have a terrible time because I always feel like people look by and go, ‘Oh, look who he’s with!’ The whole thing is very odd to me. I maybe need to grow up or something.”

On why he and Jen decided to make the Oscars their first major public event together: “At some point, you feel comfortable and say this is the choice I want to make. I think a year is a pretty good period of time with which to say, ‘Let’s go have a really good time at the Oscars!’”

True Blood costars (and real-life couple) Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer keep close at the 2009 Vanity Fair Oscar Party held at the Sunset Tower on Sunday (February 22) in West Hollywood.

The romance between Moyer, 37, and Paquin, 26, first sparked at the True Blood audition, but the couple decided to wait to go public.

“The reason it was dodged last year was very intentional on both our parts,” Moyer tells TV Guide Magazine. “It was very important to me that the cast and crew we were working with didn’t feel it was fickle, and didn’t feel it could possibly potentially encroach on their lives, you know, just like, ‘Oh the two stars are having a thing.’ We didn’t want to take anything away from the show. The show is the star, not the two people having a relationship… It’s just exciting and that was there from day one. We always take the piss out of each other and are silly with each other and it is great. We’re very, very happy. She’s the best.”

Evan Rachel Wood and shock rocker Marilyn Manson may have reignited their romance, according to Page Six.

Evan, 21, and Marilyn, 40, were spotted leaving LA’s W Hotel together Sunday morning before she walked the red carpet in Elie Saab at the Oscars (pictured below).

Gerard Butler attends the 17th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Award Viewing Party held at the Pacific Design Center on Sunday (February 22) in Hollywood.

The same evening, the 39-year-old Scottish stud hit up the 2009 Vanity Fair Oscar Party hosted by VF editor Graydon Carter held at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood.

Gerry arrived late to the bash, telling E!, “I want to sing at the Oscars. I just don’t think they’d have me.”

Sharon Stone mingles around at the 2008 Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Award Viewing Party held at the Pacific Design Center in Hollywood on Sunday night (February 22).

The 50-year-old legendary actress is the current face of Damiani and wore earrings and a bracelet from the Masterpiece version of the Rose collection, crafted in platinum and diamonds.

On Saturday Sharon attended a Diamond Information Center dinner where she said, “These events are lovely, but you really are here to do a job ­ I work for both Dior and Damiani ­ so you put on a smile, stay calm, and try not to get crazy about it!”

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale strike a post at the 2009 Vanity Fair Oscar Party hosted by Graydon Carter held at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood on Sunday night (February 22).

The 39-year-old rocker, who often wears her own L.A.M.B. designs, opted for a Chanel Fall 2008 Couture cocktail dress.
