Shawn Mendes flashes a big smile alongside Hailee Steinfeld while attending the Republic Records 2017 MTV VMAs After Party hosted by Cadillac on Sunday evening (August 27) at Tao Restaurant in Los Angeles.

The 19-year-old singer-songwriter and Hailee, 20, were joined at the star-studded bash by Nina Dobrev, Joan Smalls, Millie Boby Brown, Sofia Carson, Alexander Ludwig and his girlfriend Kristy Dawn Dinsmore, Machine Gun Kelly, and the members of DNCE – Joe Jonas, Cole Whittle, Jack Lawless and JinJoo Lee – who served as performers.

The 2017 MTV VMAs aired last night and there was all sorts of shade being thrown by celebs during the big show!

While some of the shade was pretty subtle – and maybe we’re reading too much into it – other shade was blatant and pointed. There were moments from Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and more that had fans talking.

Jack Antonoff was spotted casually eating a banana in the audience at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards and then timing is making fans talk!

The 33-year-old songwriter, who co-wrote “Look What You Made Me Do” with Taylor Swift, was seen eating the banana while Katy Perry gave her opening monologue at the show on Sunday (August 27) at The Forum in Los Angeles.

Jack‘s longtime girlfriend and Taylor‘s friend Lena Dunham tweeted about the moment.

“My boyfriend just casually eating a banana at the VMAs is a good reminder of why we’ve been at it half a decade,” she said.

Taylor and Katy have of course been in a very public feud for many years and people have been speculating that the new song is about the singer.

Yep, she did that. Normani Kordei might have had the best moment of the night when she jumped into a split for Fifth Harmony‘s performance at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards held at The Forum on Sunday (August 27) in Inglewood, Calif.

The 21-year-old entertainer competed on Dancing With the Stars earlier this year and she clearly has amazing moves now!

Normani and her 5H bandmates performed a medley of their songs “Angel” and “Down” off their new self-titled album.

When Normani jumped into her split, nobody loved it more than Bebe Rexha, who let out a scream in the audience. She even gave props to Normani while presenting later in the night.

Sir Rod Stewart teams up with the “Cake By The Ocean” crew DNCE for a high-energy rendition of his classic “Do You Think I’m Sexy?” at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards held at The Forum on Sunday (August 27) in Inglewood, Calif.

The Joe Jonashttps://www.justjared.com/tags/joe-jonas” title=”Joe Jonas”>Joe Jonas-fronted group turned the Las Vegas rooftop performance into a full-on funky disco party.

Joe rocked a mustache alongside the band on the red carpet earlier in the night.

Rod just re-released his 1978 hit with DNCE to celebrate his signing with Republic Records.

Gal Gadot hits the stage to present the final award of the night at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards held at The Forum on Sunday (August 27) in Inglewood, Calif.

The 32-year-old actress presented the Video of the Year award to Kendrick Lamar.

Ellen DeGeneres and Chance the Rapper are seriously feeling the love at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards held at The Forum on Sunday (August 27) in Inglewood, Calif.

The 24-year-old Coloring Book rapper and the daytime TV host shared a cute cuddle moment together in the audience at the VMAs.

During the show, Ellen presented the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award to Pink.

Chance‘s music video for “Same Drugs” was nominated for Best Hip Hop Video.
