'Game of Thrones' Wins Emmy for Best Drama Series for Final Season

The creators of Game of ThronesDavid Benioff and D.B. Weiss – join the cast and crew to accept the Outstanding Drama Series award at the 2019 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 22) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The HBO series won the award for the fourth time in a row, cementing its place as one of the most beloved shows of all time.

Game of Thrones beat out Better Call Saul, Bodyguard, Killing Eve, Ozark, Pose, Succession, and This Is Us for the prize this year.

For its final season, Game of Thrones earned a record 32 nominations. Here is a list of all 12 awards it won:

'Fleabag' Wins the Emmy for Best Comedy Series, Phoebe Waller-Bridge Takes Home Three Awards!

It was a HUGE night for Phoebe Waller-Bridge at the 2019 Emmy Awards – she won three awards!

The 34-year-old actress and writer is pictured her while accepting the award for Best Comedy Series at the event on Sunday (September 22) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Phoebe‘s series Fleabag took home the top prize of the night in the comedy categories and she also won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.

The show also won for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.

Phoebe credited the success of the show’s second season to co-star Andrew Scott, who played the role of The Priest.

Jason Bateman Wins Best Directing for 'Ozark' at Emmys 2019 (Video)

Jason Bateman takes home the award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series at the 2019 Emmy Awards!

The 50-year-old actor won for his work on the Netflix series Ozark (Episode: “Reparations”) at the event held on Sunday (September 22) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Ozark beat out Game of Thrones, Killing Eve, Succession, and The Handmaid’s Tale.

“Wow,” Jason said during his speech, thanking the cast, crew, and his family. “That is something.”

The award marks Jason‘s first win and second nomination. He also received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Martin “Marty” Byrde.

His co-star Julia Garner also won for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Halsey Performs 'Time After Time' for In Memoriam Tribute at Emmy Awards 2019

Halsey gives a powerful and emotional performance on stage during the 2019 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 22) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old actress performed a rendition of Cyndi Lauper‘s “Time After Time” as she helped pay tribute to those we lost this year for the In Memoriam tribute.

Jodie Comer Was Shocked By Her Win at Emmy Awards 2019!

Jodie Comer gives her acceptance speech after winning an award at the 2019 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 22) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old English actress won the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work in Killing Eve, beating out co-star Sandra Oh and lots of other amazing stars.

“I cannot believe I’m in a category alongside these women, one of them who is my co-star Sandra Oh,” she said during the speech. “Sandra, safe to say… this has been a whirlwind. I’m lucky to have shared the whole experience with you.”

Jodie joked that she didn’t bring her parents to show because she never expected to win. She clearly was shocked by the win!

“I didn’t think this was gonna be my time,” Jodie said on stage. “One, I’m sorry and two, I love you. I’m gonna bring it home.”

Emmy Awards 2019 - Complete Winners List Revealed!

It was a great night of celebrating the best in television at the 2019 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 22) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Some of the big winners of the night included the HBO limited series Chernobyl, which picked up three awards, and Amazon Prime Video’s Fleabag, which won four awards, including three for creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Those expecting Game of Thrones to sweep the awards were wrong as the show only picked up two prizes during the night – Outstanding Drama Series and an acting award for Peter Dinklage.

Billy Porter Makes History with Emmys 2019 Win!

Billy Porter lets out a joyous scream on stage at the 2019 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 22) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The Pose star won the Outstanding Lead Actor in A Drama Series award for his work on the hit FX show!

In addition to winning, Billy made history this evening with the big win.

“Victorious. @theebillyporter becomes the first openly gay black man to win Outstanding Lead Actor in A Drama Series for @PoseonFX,” the Television Academy tweeted. Congratulations to Billy Porter!
