Joey King to Star in Series Adaptation of Jodi Picoult's 'A Spark of Light'

Joey King is set to star in the upcoming limited TV series adaptation of the Jodi Picoult novel “A Spark of Light.”

The 20-year-old actress, who was just nominated for an Emmy for her work in The Act, will also executive produce the series with Jodi, as well as her mom Jamie King, her manager Dan Spilo, Doug Robinson, and Allison Greenspan.

Jodi is the best-selling author of books like “My Sister’s Keeper” and “The Pact.”

In A Spark of Light, “what appears to be another day of service to women at a women’s reproductive health services clinic, becomes tragic as a desperate and distraught gunman bursts in and opens fire, taking all inside hostage,” according to Deadline.

Here is the full synopsis: “Hugh McElroy, a police hostage negotiator, arrives at the scene just as gets a text that his fifteen-year-old daughter, Wren (King), is inside the clinic. She is joined there by a nurse, a wounded woman, a doctor, a pro-life protester-tuned-patient, a young woman who has come to terminate her pregnancy, as well as the disturbed gunman himself, vowing to be heard.”
