Abigail Breslin is opening up about a dark time in her life.
The 26-year-old actress and singer shared her story with her followers on social media for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and revealed that she is a survivor.
“October is #domesticviolenceawarenessmonth and I wanted to share a little bit about my story. And highlight @ncadv and the work they do,” Abigail posted in the caption before telling her story.

Abigail Breslin is opening up about her first Christmas without her father, who passed away earlier this year after a battle with COVID-19.
The 25-year-old Stillwater actress’ dad Michael died back in February 2021 after being hospitalized for weeks.
“Merry Christmas eve everyone! I’m not gonna lie. This one is a weird one for me. My first holiday season sans my dada,” Abigail began her note on Instagram.

Sarah Paulson is dazzling the red carpet!
The 46-year-old Impeachment: American Crime Story actress wore a sparkling gown to The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening Gala held on Saturday evening (September 25) at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
Joining Sarah at the event was her longtime love Holland Taylor.
Other stars of Ryan Murphy‘s shows included Darren Criss, Angela Bassett, MJ Rodriguez, pregnant Lily Rabe, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourd with fiance Austen Rydell, Diego Boneta, and Cheyenne Jackson with husband Jason Landau.
The event – which is being co-chaired by Ava DuVernay, Ryan, and Jason Blum – will be honoring Sophia Loren and filmmaker Haile Gerima. Tom Hanks, Annette Bening, and Bob Iger are also being recognized for their fundraising efforts for the museum.
The new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, which is located on the LACMA campus, will officially be open to the public starting on September 30.
