'Abominable' Opening Weekend Box Office Numbers Revealed!

Abominable is having a big opening weekend at the box office!

The Universal and DreaWorks animated adventure movie brought in $20.85 million in North America and $29.7 million worldwide in its first weekend, according to Variety on Sunday (September 29).

The opening marks the best opening of the year for an animated original, and director Jill Culton became the first female to independently make an animated film for a major studio.

Downtown Abbey brought in $14.5 million in its second week, while Judy opened with $3 million at 461 screens.

Hustlers brought in $11.47 million in its third week.

The ladies were joined at the premiere by fellow voice actors Albert Tsai, Tenzing Norgay Trainor, and Michelle Wong, as well as writer and co-director Jill Culton.

The animated film will be hitting theaters on September 26!

The Full Trailer For Dreamworks' 'Abominable' Is Here - Watch Now!

Yi lights up a mountain full of flowers with her music in the brand new trailer for Abominable.

The upcoming animated movie centers on Yi (Chloe Bennet), who encounters a young Yeti on the roof of her apartment building in Shanghai. She and her mischievous friends, Jin (Tenzing Norgay Trainor) and Peng (Albert Tsai), name him “Everest” and embark on an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth.

But the trio of friends will have to stay one-step ahead of Burnish (Eddie Izzard), a wealthy man intent on capturing a Yeti, and zoologist Dr. Zara (Sarah Paulson) to help Everest get home.

The movie will hit theaters on September 27th.
