Caleb Lee Hutchinson suits up for the 2018 CMA Awards!

The 19-year-old singer and runner-up on the 16th season of American Idol hit the red carpet at the event held at the Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday (November 14) in Nashville, Tenn.

He was joined by Kellie Pickler, a contestant on the fifth season of American Idol – who wowed in a one-shoulder yellow gown – as well as Scotty McCreery, who won the 10th season of the series.

Also in attendance was Kellie‘s Pickler & Ben talk show co-host, Ben Aaron, and Scotty‘s wife, Gabi Dugal.

If you didn’t know, Caleb is dating American Idol season 16 winner, Maddie Poppe!

Cute couple Maddie Poppe and Caleb Lee Hutchinson walk the red carpet together at the 2018 Peoples’ Choice Awards on Sunday night (November 11) at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.

The young musicians met while competing on this year’s reboot season of American Idol and they are still going strong as a couple!

Maddie was nominated for Competition Contestant of 2018 and she won the award.

Caleb joked on Instagram that night, “Just won the award for best non-invited Peoples Choice Award attendee!”

American Idol finalist Caleb Lee Hutchinson got the chance of a lifetime during the show’s finale!

The 19-year-old singer got to take the stage with country superstar Darius Rucker!

During the show, the duo got to perform Darius‘ song “Wagon Wheel” and Caleb got the chance to show off his banjo skills!

“Thank you for making a dream come true @dariusrucker!” Caleb wrote on his Twitter after the performance.

American Idol just wrapped up its final episode of the season and named one contestant the winner!

The competition came down to three performers – Gabby Barrett, Caleb Lee Hutchinson and Maddie Poppe.

During the two night finale, the trio got a last chance to showcase their voices during three performances – an original song, their favorite song from the season and a song dedicated to their roots.

While the judges – Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan – were able to weigh in on the contestants performances, the elimination was completely decided by the public!

The final two contestants on American Idol this year were Caleb Lee Hutchinson and Maddie Poppe… and they’re also a couple!

With just minutes to go until the winner was revealed during the finale on Monday (May 21), Caleb revealed that he is dating Maddie.

The moment happened while host Ryan Seacrest was introducing a performance from Caleb and Maddie. They did a stripped down version of “Over the Rainbow” while both sets of parents stood together and watched. So cute!

When they started holding hands near the end of the performance, the crowd went wild with cheers.

After the performance, Ryan announced that Idol is sending the couple on a trip to Hawaii!

Throughout the season, Caleb opened up about his weight loss journey and how he lost over 80 pounds. Check out the before and after photos!

The 19-year-old country singer kicked off the night with his new single “Johnny Cash Heart,” then did “Don’t Close Your Eyes” as his encore performance, and ended the evening with “Folsom Prison Blues.”
