Beyonce's 'Lion King' Album Set To Feature Jay-Z, Childish Gambino & More - See Tracklist Here!

Beyoncé‘s Lion King: The Gift album now has an official tracklist!

The 37-year-old entertainer voices the role of Nala in the upcoming Disney film and she produced and curated an accompanying album to go along with the film.

Lion King: The Gift features a collaboration between Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Childish Gambino, as well as a collab between Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar. Beyond that, the tracklist also contains Jessie Reyez, Pharrell, Tierra Whack, Wale, and others.

There’s even an appearance from Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

“This is sonic cinema,” Beyoncé said in the press release. “This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.”

“I wanted to put everyone on their own journey to link the storyline,” Beyoncé continued. “Each song was written to reflect the film’s storytelling that gives the listener a chance to imagine their own imagery, while listening to a new contemporary interpretation. It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers. Authenticity and heart were important to me.”

Beyoncé‘s original song “Spirit” is the final song on the tracklist – Listen here!

The Lion King: The Gift will be released this Friday (July 19) via Walt Disney Records!

During his set, Childish got emotional while paying tribute to his father, Mac Miller, and Nispey Hussle – all of whom have sadly passed away this within this past year.

“I lost my dad this year, we lost Nipsey, we lost Mac,” Childish shared. “What I’m starting to realize, all we really have is memories at the end of the day, that’s all we are. All we are really is data. You pass onto your kids, you can pass it on to your friends, your family. The problem with us, millennials like everybody here we have so much data, like, we know what’s going to happen.”
