Jennifer Tilly & Devon Sawa Will Star in 'Chucky' TV Series!

Casting for the upcoming Chucky television series has been announced!

USA Network and Syfy are teaming up to bring the iconic movie villain from the Child’s Play series to the small screen.

Jennifer Tilly is confirmed to reprise her role as Tiffany Valentine from the movies and Devon Sawa has joined the cast in an unspecified role. They will both be recurring stars on the series, according to Deadline.

Four teen leads have also been announced: Transparent‘s Zackary Arthur, Ratched‘s Teo Briones, Daybreak‘s Alyvia Alyn Lind, and The Seventh Day‘s Björgvin Arnarson.

In the television series, “after a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.”

Don Mancini, the creator of the Child’s Play franchise, is also creating the TV series and will serve as showrunner and executive producer.

'Chucky' TV Series Gets a Teaser Trailer - Watch Now!

Chucky, the villainous doll from the Child’s Play movie franchise, is getting his own television series on the USA Network and the teaser trailer was just released!

The show will be airing on both USA and Syfy and the channels teased, “It’s an evil too great to play on just one network.”

In the upcoming series, “a small town is terrorized by a string of murders following the appearance of a vintage Chucky doll at a yard sale. Friends and enemies from Chuck’s past may reveal the truth behind the killings and shed light on the doll’s ‘untold origins,’” according to EW.

Jennifer Tilly has confirmed that she will be starring in the upcoming series, which is scheduled to premiere in 2021.

'Child's Play' Villain Chucky Is Getting a TV Series at Syfy

Syfy has given a straight-to-series order for Chucky, a new series about the villain from the Child’s Play film franchise.

The series has been in development for the past year and the network announced the show has been greenlit while at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

The new Chucky series “will explore the horror that unfolds in a small idyllic American town after a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale and the chaos the ensues when as a series of murders exposes the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the slayings as well as the doll’s untold origins,” according to THR.

Hocus PocusDavid Kirschner and The Act‘s Nick Antosca are executive producing the series.

A Child’s Play big-screen remake was released last year and grossed $44 million worldwide.
