The trailer for the Wendy Williams biopic has been released!

Lifetime released the trailer for Wendy Williams: The Movie with Ciera Payton playing the talk show host. The actress is best known for her work on the BET series Tyler Perry’s The Oval.

The trailer showcases Wendy‘s rise to fame, while also documenting her rocky relationship with ex-husband Kevin Hunter (played by Morocco Omari) and his alleged affair, and her substance abuse issues.

“You’re self-indulgent, you’re narcissistic, you’ve got a coke habit,” an off-screen character accuses at one point during the trailer.

Despite her lows, Wendy is ready to rule the world.

I am here to stay. Wendy Williams is not going anywhere,” Ciera as Wendy says. “I’m gonna come in like a hurricane.”

Wendy Williams: The Movie – which is executive-produced by Wendy – will premiere on Saturday, January 30 on Lifetime!

Ciera Payton is playing Wendy Williams!

The 34-year-old Flight of Fury actress is set to star alongside Morocco Omari in the upcoming Wendy Williams: The Hot Topic Lifetime TV biopic, Deadline reported Friday (September 4).

Ciera, who has previously starred in The Walking Dead, General Hospital and Graceland, will star in the title role as Williams, and Morocco will play Wendy’s ex-husband Kevin Hunter. Additionally, The Chi’s Darren Grant will direct the movie, slated to debut in 2021, alongside a feature-length documentary.

Production begins on the movie, executive produced by Wendy, this month, and promises to “reveal the highs and lows Williams has experienced throughout the years, from her scrappy upstart days in urban radio to the success of her own syndicated talk show.”

In the accompanying documentary, Wendy “sheds her private persona and speaks directly to the camera from her Manhattan apartment, discussing the joy and the humiliation she has experienced since childhood.”

She recently threw some shade at her ex’s “baby situation.”

Nicolas Cage is dapper in a gray suit while attending the premiere of his latest film The Runner held at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres on Wednesday (August 5) in Hollywood, Calif.

The 51-year-old actor was joined on the red carpet by his son Weston Cage and his wife Danielle, as well as co-stars Bryan Batt and Ciera Payton, producer Bingo Gubelmann and director Austin Stark.
