Matt Doyle Picks Up First Tony Win for 'Company' at Tony Awards 2022!

Matt Doyle is now a Tony winner!

The 35-year-old actor won the award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for his work in Company at the 2022 Tony Awards on Sunday (June 12) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Matt was nominated against Funny Girl‘s Jared Grimes, A Strange Loop‘s John-Andrew Morrison, and Paradise Square‘s Sidney DuPont and A.J. Shively.

During his speech, Matt said, “Thank you to Marianne Elliott and Chris Harper for your friendship and guidance and support over the years for changing my life. Thank you so much to George Furth and to Stephen Sondheim. Stephen, thank you for allowing your work to evolve and allowing more people to be seen in your genius. Thank you so much. I’m the next bride!”

Matt also thanked his longtime boyfriend Max Clayton, who was sitting by his side at the show.

Broadway's 'Company' Cast Performs Title Song at Tony Awards 2022, Picks Up 5 Awards!

Company is already guaranteed to be the big winner of the night at the Tonys!

Katrina Lenk and the cast of the show performed the title song at the 2022 Tony Awards on Sunday (June 12) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Also featured in the performance were cast members Patti LuPone, Jennifer Simard, Matt Doyle, Terence Archie, Etai Benson, Bobby Conte, Nikki Renee Daniels, Claybourne Elder, Christopher Fitzgerald, Greg Hildreth, Manu Narayan, Rashidra Scott, and Christopher Sieber.

The show won for Best Revival of a Musical, Best Director of a Musical, Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical for Patti, Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for Matt, and Best Scenic Design of a Musical.

The 72-year-old actress received a positive diagnosis, affecting her role in Broadway‘s Company, via Variety.
