Singer-songwriter Jax just released the music video for her new song “Ring Pop” after going viral on TikTok over the past year!
The 24-year-old singer got her start on American Idol and came in third place on season 14 of the original Fox series back in 2015.
At the start of the pandemic, Jax took to TikTok and started writing parodies of hit songs, written from different perspectives. She kicked things off with a response to “Stacy’s Mom” from the perspective of Stacy’s mom.
Jax now has over 1.3 million followers on the app with over 125 million views and 22 million likes on her videos.
On her new song “Ring Pop,” Jax said, “I was, and currently am, broke in L.A. living in a one-bedroom apartment, but very much in love. My boyfriend and I weren’t having a great week, so I wrote the song for him to feel better about not being able to just buy a diamond engagement ring and get married. Who cares? We’re living our best times now.”
Starring in the music video with Jax is Devon Werkheiser from Nickelodeon’s classic sitcom Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.
