'Once Upon a Time' Creators Return to ABC with New Fairy Tale Anthology Series, 'Epic'

Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, the creators of the hit ABC series Once Upon a Time, are officially returning to the network with their new fairy tale anthology series Epic!

ABC has announced that the show has been given a pilot order, according to THR.

The show is being “described as a romantic anthology that reinvents fairy tales for a new audience.” Sources told THR that the show will focus “on Disney properties as their former ABC drama explored Snow White and other iconic characters.”

Kitsis and Horowitz signed a four-year renewal on their overall deal with ABC back in 2018, making them the studio’s highest-paid drama producers.

Once Upon a Time ran for seven seasons on ABC and continues to be a “cash-cow for Disney,” according to the report. You can watch all episodes of the show on Disney+ right now!

'Once Upon a Time' Creators Are Developing a Series Set in Disney Fairytale Universe

ABC is developing a new series called Epic with the team behind the hit series Once Upon a Time.

The new series is being created by Once Upon a Time‘s executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz and writer Brigette Hales.

Deadline reports that the show is a “romantic anthology series set in the fairytale universe of Disney.”

“Taking place in a Disney-like Enchanted Forest, it will center on a whole new set of new heroes, villains, princes, princesses and all manner of magical beings. While it will pay homage to the classic signposts we’re all familiar with from the stories we grew up with, Epic will endeavor to create a whole new batch of characters as it explores love in all its forms,” the outlet reported.

The new show will not be connected to Once Upon a Time.
