Jesse Tyler Ferguson is still close with Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who played his daughter on the hit sitcom Modern Family!

The two actors enjoyed a fun night out together while seeing the opening night performance of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at Center Theatre Group’s Ahmanson Theatre on Friday night (January 21) in Los Angeles.

“Father daughter date night! This time @jamiemusical @ctgla. ❤️,” Jesse wrote on Instagram.

The hit British musical, which was turned into a movie for Amazon Prime Video, is finally playing in the U.S. and fans can check out the show right now in L.A.

Also pictured are the show’s stars Layton Williams, Bianca Del Rio, and Hiba Elchikhe, who all performed in the show in London.

Here is the show’s synopsis: “Jamie New is sixteen and lives in public housing in Sheffield, England. Jamie doesn’t quite fit in, he’s terrified about the future and he’s going to be a sensation. Supported by his loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies, and steps out of the darkness and into the spotlight.”

The musical is playing in Los Angeles through February 20!

The new movie musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie will be released on Amazon Prime Video TOMORROW (September 17) and we have some exclusive photos to debut ahead of the big premiere!

The film is inspired by true events and it’s based on the hit musical from London’s West End. The story follows Jamie New (Max Harwood), a teenager in a blue collar English town with a dream of life on stage. While his classmates plan their livelihoods after graduation, Jamie contemplates revealing his secret career ambition as a fierce and proud drag queen.

Richard E. Grant plays local drag legend Miss loco Chanelle, who mentors Jamie toward his debut stage performance. We have some photos of him in full drag, which you can see in the gallery!

He was joined the film’s stars Max Harwood (in a blue star suit), Lauren Patel, Shobna Gulati, Richard E Grant, Layton Williams and Ralph Ineson at the premiere event.

Inspired by true events of Campbell‘s life, the film follows Jamie New (Harwood), a teenager from Sheffield, who dreams of life on stage. While his classmates plan their livelihoods after they leave school, Jamie contemplates revealing his secret career ambition to become a fierce and proud drag queen.

His best friend Pritti (Patel) and his loving mum (Sarah Lancashire) shower him with endless support, while local drag legend Miss Loco Chanelle (Grant) mentors him toward his debut stage performance.

But Jamie also has to contend with an unsupportive father (Ineson), an uninspired careers advisor (Sharon Horgan), and some ignorant school kids who attempt to rain on his sensational parade.

The film will be released on Amazon Prime Video on September 17.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka welcomed the stars of the movie Everybody’s Talking About Jamie into the home for an incredible screening event this past weekend!

The married couple transformed their backyard into an outdoor movie theater for the event on Friday (August 20) at their home in East Hampton, N.Y.

Neil and David introduced the film’s stars Max Harwood and Lauren Patel, as well as director Jonathan Butterell, to their star-studded crowd.

Some of the celebs in attendance included Mariska Hargitay and Peter Hermann, Jane Krakowski, Cynthia Nixon, and Christie Brinkley, along with Cinema Society founder Andrew Saffir and his husband Daniel Benedict.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is based on the hit West End musical and the film will premiere globally on Amazon Prime Video on September 17.

Max Harwood is making his movie debut in the upcoming musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie and he just attended his first big L.A. premiere!

The 23-year-old actor walked the carpet at the Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival’s opening night gala screening on Friday (August 13) at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles.

The outdoor event was also attended by Max‘s co-star Lauren Patel and director Jonathan Butterell. RuPaul’s Drag Race season six winner Bianca Del Rio, who starred in the London stage production of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, was also there.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has found a home!

The movie adaptation of the popular West End musical is set to arrive on Amazon Prime Video, Variety reported Thursday (May 20).

The movie was originally set to premiere in theaters on October 23 of last year, but the pandemic pushed back those plans.

Amazon bought distribution rights for “an undisclosed sum,” according to the report.

The movie will now premiere on September 17 in over 240 countries and territories.

Here’s a plot summary: “Inspired by true events, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is the film adaptation of the hit musical. Jamie New is 16 and doesn’t quite fit in—instead of pursuing a ‘real’ career he dreams of becoming a drag queen. Uncertain about his future, Jamie knows one thing for sure: he is going to be a sensation. Supported by his loving mom and his amazing friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight.”

The movie stars newcomer Max Harwood, Sarah Lancashire, Lauren Patel, Shobna Gulati, Ralph Ineson, Adeel Akhtar, Samuel Bottomley, with Sharon Horgan and Richard E. Grant.

The stage production’s director, Jonathan Butterell, makes his feature-film debut as director, with screenplay and lyrics by Tom MacRae, songs by Dan Gillespie Sells and a score composed by Sells and Anne Dudley.
