Bindi Irwin shared a sweet tribute to her late father, Steve Irwin, over the weekend.

The 23-year-old wildlife conservationist marked the 15th anniversary of his passing, sharing that she knows he is her daughter, Grace Warrior‘s, guardian angel.

“This sweetheart has been watching her ‘Grandpa Crocodile’ on the projector at our camp here on the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve,” Bindi captioned. “She lights up when she sees him on screen.”

The wildlife conservationist continued, “I wish with all my heart that Dad could hug my beautiful girl. It’s been 15 years since he passed away. I hold on to the thought that he’s her guardian angel now, watching over the most special part of my life, Grace Warrior.”

Bindi was just eight when Steve passed away. She and husband Chandler Powell welcomed Grace in March this year.

The 22-year-old Crikey! It’s the Irwins star and her husband Chandler Powell welcomed their first child together, they confirmed on social media on Friday (March 26).

And her name is…Grace Warrior Irwin Powell!

“March 25, 2021. Celebrating the two loves of my life. Happy first wedding anniversary to my sweetheart husband and day of birth to our beautiful daughter. ❤️ Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. Our graceful warrior is the most beautiful light,” Bindi captioned their first photo together.

“Grace is named after my great-grandmother, and relatives in Chandler’s family dating back to the 1700s. Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior. Her last name is Powell and she already has such a kind soul just like her dad. There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet baby girl. She chose the perfect day to be born and we feel tremendously blessed.”

Their daughter was born at 5:52 p.m. and weighed 7 Lbs. and 7 oz, measuring at 20 inches long.

“Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. After waiting for you to arrive for the last 9 months, finally meeting you has been the best moment of my life. You have a big life ahead of you and no matter what, you will be surrounded by a whole lot of love. Thank you for gracing your beautiful mother and me on our wedding anniversary, so excited to have you home❤️” Chandler wrote on his Instagram.

“Love is not a big enough word. My heart is so incredibly happy. And I know that Steve would be beyond proud. Grace is the next generation to continue his mission and message of conservation. She chose her parents wisely. Bindi and Chandler are already the best parents ever!” wrote happy mom Terri Irwin on social media.

Bindi and Chandler revealed they were expecting in early August. They married in an intimate ceremony back in March 2020.
