BTS Members Tweet Jimin Sweet & Hilarious Birthday Wishes!

It’s October 13 in Korea, which means BTS is officially ringing in Jimin‘s 24th birthday!

The South Korean boy band and ARMY members everywhere are making sure Jimin is feeling the love.

Jin tweeted a handwritten note (below), jokingly captioning it, “Jimin-ah, happy birthday, I wrote this for a period of three hours.” His handwritten note read simply, “Jimin, Happy Birthday! – Jin Hyung.”

Suga wrote (according to a fan translation), “Jimin-ah, I wish you a happy birthday I hope that this year, you eat lots and grow up and up.”

RM, Jungkook, J-Hope, and V also shared their birthday sentiments along with some never-before-seen pics. See them here: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5].

BTS also surprised Jimin by singing him “happy birthday” in Arabic during their recent tour stop in Riyadh, broadcasted live on VLIVE.

“The members started singing a song that I [didn’t] know, but I started kind of [lip-syncing] anyway just in case,” Jimin shared (according to a fan translator, via VLIVE). “The song sounded a bit familiar and I thought it was a New Year’s celebration song, but I thought wait, it’s a bit too early to celebrate new year’s… then I heard someone say ‘Jimin’ and I realized it was for my birthday.”

BTS & UNICEF Call for an End to Violence In & Around Schools (Video)

BTS is asking young people to help put a stop to violence in and around schools.

The South Korean boy band and UNICEF shared a new video in honor of UN International Day of Friendship.

The video features BTS singing their hit single “Answer: Love Myself” over fictional stories of young people encountering violence, bullying, and fear in and around schools, sending a message of friendship and support.

“Our LOVE MYSELF campaign is all about encouraging every young person to find the love from within themselves and spreading that love to others,” BTS said in a press release. “We want everyone to take part in ending violence by sharing love and kindness.”

BTS‘s LOVE MYSELF campaign has raised over $2 million to help UNICEF #ENDviolence.

UNICEF is urging young people leave a kind note for someone – in real life or online – and share it for others to see.

“Children and young people have told us time and again that being treated with kindness and respect helps them to feel safe in and around school,” UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore said. “Every day students face a range of violent acts, from bullying and physical attacks to corporal punishment, sexual assault and harassment online. By being kind, children and young people can show their support for each other and brighten someone’s day. We’re grateful to BTS for their continued commitment to making sure that no child is afraid to go to school.”

BTS Channel The Beatles on 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert'

BTS are officially 2019′s answer to The Beatles.

The K-pop sensation, made up of members J-Hope, V, Jungkook, Jimin, Suga, Jin, and RM, channeled the Fab Four during their first ever performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Wednesday night (May 15).

The homage is fitting, since BTS’ talent and popularity have been compared to The Beatles.

“You may have heard there’s a new musical craze sweeping the globe, these fellas are really something. They’re called BTS and people are so excited you can only call it BTS Mania,” Stephen Colbert said as he introduced the group. “These boys are from across the pond, the big one, the one with Hawaii in the middle. They really are a fine group of youngsters, in fact, you can call them the fab seven. It’s got a nice ring to it.”

BTS’s “Boy With Luv” YouTube video also garnered 2 million comments in the first 24 hours, Variety reports.

BTS Gets Candid About Crossing Over in America As an Asian Group

BTS is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s latest issue, hitting newsstands on Friday (March 29).

Here’s what the massive popular South Korean boy band had to say…

RM, on their influence in music: “With seven members we have seven different tastes, of course. So when it comes to songwriting, it’s like a big competition.”

J-Hope, on their individual taste: “We’ll write a lyric and decide, ‘This sort of reflects me [more], who I am and my own color,’ so we’ll want to keep that for a solo song.”

RM, on crossing over in America: “You know, Latin pop has its own Grammys in America, and it’s quite different. I don’t want to compare, but I think it’s even harder as an Asian group. A Hot 100 and a Grammy nomination, these are our goals. But they’re just goals—we don’t want to change our identity or our genuineness to get the number one. Like if we sing suddenly in full English, and change all these other things, then that’s not BTS.”
