Karl-Anthony Towns Was Hit By a Drunk Driver & He Credits Jordyn Woods for Helping Him Recover

Minnesota Timberwolves player Karl-Anthony Towns is opening up about the struggles he went through in 2020 and how his girlfriend Jordyn Woods helped him through all of them.

As you probably already know, the 25-year-old basketball star’s mom passed away from COVID-19 back in April and several other family members died as well.

“How do you stay so strong after overcoming so much?” a fan asked Towns during a Q&A session on his Instagram Stories.

Karl-Anthony then revealed that he was actually hit by a drunk driver during the NBA off-season and he credits Jordyn for helping him recover.

“My woman has held me down more than the world knows. From my mother and family members dying (1 on her bday in Cabo), getting hit by a drunk driver (was 2pm in the afternoon FYI) in LA this Off-Season and staying with me in the hospital for the night and helping me in rehab, to this stint with COVID she has been there with me every step of the way and stayed ten toes down,” he wrote in the post.

Towns added, “My love for her knows no bounds and I would be remiss if I don’t acknowledge the power a good woman can have in your life. Men, treat your woman like a Queen so she can treat you like a King.”

Basketball Star Karl-Anthony Towns Has Lost Seven Relatives To COVID-19, Including His Mom

Karl-Anthony Towns is opening up about how coronavirus has taken over his family, and resulted in not just his mom’s passing, but six other family members as well.

During a press briefing today (December 4), the 25-year-old Minnesota Timberwolves player revealed the heartbreaking news.

“I’ve been through a lot, obviously starting out with my mom,” he started off saying. “Last night I got a call that I lost my uncle. I feel like I’ve been hardened a little bit by life and humbled.”

Karl-Anthony continued, “I’ve seen a lot of coffins in the last seven months. I have a lot of people who have — in my family and my mom’s family — gotten COVID. I’m the one looking for answers still, trying to find how to keep them healthy. It’s just a lot of responsibility on me to keep my family well-informed and to make all the moves necessary to keep them alive.”

Karl-Anthony added that he’s not mentally in a good place since his family has been taken away from him because of COVID-19 complications.

“I’ve never been in a mentally good place since (his mother) went in the hospital. … I wouldn’t say (basketball) is therapy for me at all,” he added.

Karl‘s mom, Jacqueline, passed away in April from the virus.

“I think it’s important that everyone understands the severity of what’s happening in the world right now with the coronavirus, and I think where my life is right now could help, so I decided to do this video and give you an update of where I’m at,” he said at the time. “I’ve just been getting updates on her condition. It’s rough, and day by day we’re just seeing how it goes. We’re being positive; I’m being very positive. So I’m just keeping the strength up for everybody and my family.”

Just recently, Karl-Anthony has been linked to Jordyn Woods and they were seen out together at this celeb hot spot.
