Ciera Payton to Play Wendy Williams in Lifetime Biopic!

Ciera Payton is playing Wendy Williams!

The 34-year-old Flight of Fury actress is set to star alongside Morocco Omari in the upcoming Wendy Williams: The Hot Topic Lifetime TV biopic, Deadline reported Friday (September 4).

Ciera, who has previously starred in The Walking Dead, General Hospital and Graceland, will star in the title role as Williams, and Morocco will play Wendy’s ex-husband Kevin Hunter. Additionally, The Chi’s Darren Grant will direct the movie, slated to debut in 2021, alongside a feature-length documentary.

Production begins on the movie, executive produced by Wendy, this month, and promises to “reveal the highs and lows Williams has experienced throughout the years, from her scrappy upstart days in urban radio to the success of her own syndicated talk show.”

In the accompanying documentary, Wendy “sheds her private persona and speaks directly to the camera from her Manhattan apartment, discussing the joy and the humiliation she has experienced since childhood.”

She recently threw some shade at her ex’s “baby situation.”

Wendy Williams is taking a dig at her ex, Kevin Hunter.

The Wendy Williams Show host, who split with her ex-husband amid rumors that he was welcoming a child with another woman during their marriage, made a joke about the situation on her Instagram on Thursday (August 13).

In a photo, Wendy is seen holding a baby – her friend Raquel Harper‘s daughter, Joyous – on her lap inside of a car.

“Look @ me with my baby girl. I’m not the only Hunter with a baby situation,” she captioned the post.

Wendy Williams & Ex-Husband Kevin Hunter Finalize Divorce

Wendy Williams is legally a single woman.

The 55-year-old daytime talk show host and ex-husband Kevin Hunter finalized their divorce on Wednesday (January 22), Page Six reports.

According to court documents, Wendy and Kevin cited irreconcilable difference as the cause for their divorce. The two agreed to forego alimony, but Wendy did agree to keep a $1 million life insurance policy on herself that will go to Kevin should she die, but she has the right to reduce the amount on a yearly basis.

Wendy and Kevin also agreed to split the proceeds from their Livingston, New Jersey home once it sells. It’s currently on the market for $1.7 million.

The former couple’s joint bank account will go to Wendy and all of Kevin‘s shares in Wendy Williams Productions Inc. will be signed over to Wendy.

Kevin
reportedly received a lump sum from Wendy, and a severance payment from Wendy, Inc. He will maintain ownership of his businesses and his cars.

Wendy and Kevin split in April 2019 after 21 years of marriage after it was reported his alleged mistress gave birth to a baby girl.

The Wendy Williams Show host interrupted a Drugstore Beauty Finds segment during her show on Wednesday (October 23) to call out her estranged husband Kevin Hunter for allegedly banning Tyrese from the show.

Tyrese hasn’t been here in three or four years. I’m like, where have you been? He goes ‘your husband banned me because he thought I was flirting with you,’” she told the crowd.

“Are you serious, Kevin? Are you serious?! Attention Wendy staff…new rules, it’s a new day!”

“Get out of here with that! Who are you flirting with?” she shouted later on, mimicking a baby bump before getting on with the show.

Wendy Williams Confirms Ex Kevin Hunter Fathered a Child

Wendy Williams is addressing rumors for the first time that ex Kevin Hunter fathered a child while they were married.

During an interview with The New York Times Magazine, the 55-year-old daytime talk show host confirmed that her ex husband had a daughter with his alleged mistress.

While not revealing too much more, Wendy did confirm that “Kevin has a daughter.”

“I never thought that I would be in this position,” Wendy continued. “I’m a very forgiving person, but there’s one thing that I could never be a part of, and that one thing happened.”

During another interview, Wendy opened up about how much she knew about Kevin‘s “double life” and revealed why she stayed with him for so long.

Wendy Williams is revealing that she knew about her ex-husband Kevin Hunter‘s alleged mistress “for years.”

While appearing on Andy Cohen‘s SiriusXM channel Radio Andy on Monday (August 12), the 55-year-old talk show host revealed that she was aware of “a lot of things” of her ex husband’s “double life,” but stayed with him to not disturb son Kevin Hunter Jr‘s life.

“I had to get my ducks in a row. I knew a lot of things for years,” Wendy said. “But my son was at home. It wasn’t fair to him. I’m not going grab his hand and flee the scenes and move zip codes. Now he has to move high schools and stuff like that — he’s just making friends.”

Wendy Williams is getting emotional about the state of her relationship with her ex, Kevin Hunter.

The Wendy Williams Show host sat down with SiriusXM’s The Karen Hunter Show host Karen Hunter at SiriusXM studios on Tuesday (July 23) in New York City.

When asked whether she’ll change her name on credit card and bank accounts, Wendy got choked up.

“My name is Wendy Hunter. That’s my son’s name. You can’t take away twenty…don’t make me cry,” she began to say before getting choked up.

“Next,” she said.

“I’m happy, I’m healthy…I’m at peace with the world and everyone around…I’m going through a situation in my family,” she then said before getting emotional again.

“Is there a chance…” Karen began to ask.

“No! Don’t ask. Girl. No. Don’t ask. I know what you’re saying…but my family’s good, and we’ll always be family.”
