Kimberley Sustad & Brooks Darnell Play The 'Game of Love' in New Hallmark Channel Movie

Kimberley Sustad and Brooks Darnell put love on the line in their newest Hallmark Channel movie, Game of Love.

Debuting this weekend, the film will premiere TONIGHT, Saturday, March 11 at 8 p.m.

Here’s a summary for the movie: Audrey Watson (Sustad) is put in charge of developing a new board game that is all about romantic love. To make sure things happen on a faster-than-normal schedule, she is paired with outside marketing consultant Matthew Reynolds (Darnell).

The only problem is that these two have entirely different ways of working and views on the subject of love. Their attempts at working together end in disaster because the game in no way reflects what it’s like to meet and fall in love with the right someone.

They soon realize they are influenced by their own mistakes in the dating world; while Audrey is too independent, Matt is preoccupied with looking the part and making the right impression. In order to build a successful board game that captures the art of romance, both have to figure out what they’re doing wrong and start working together as a team.

During the Facebook Live chat, Brooks opened up about his character, saying that despite being a “marketing genius,…he learns along the way that this board game thing is not much about marketing; it’s more about the person and the personalities.”

He added, “I like that he becomes malleable at the end. Before, he’s stern [about] who he is, and then she starts to open him up. ‘Actually, this is who I think you are.’ And that’s what I like… he’s not as rigid as he starts off.”

Paul Campbell Actually Wrote 'Three Wise Men & A Baby' With Another Hallmark Star - Kimberley Sustad!

Fans might be surprised to know that Hallmark Channel‘s latest movie, Three Wise Men and a Baby, was actually written by two of the networks’ stars.

Paul Campbell, who also starred in the film as Stephan, co-wrote the script for the movie with Kimberley Sustad.

“Kimberley has an extraordinary gift for story and for character,” he told MediaVillage in a new interview. “And she is like an encyclopedia of ’90s rom-coms. She understands story and what makes it compelling. I have a technical eye and am good with taking those ideas and turning them into dialogue. She’s like a broad stroke [artist] who gives me a lump of clay and says, ‘I think it has to [maybe] look like this.’ I go, ‘Oh, I can make a pony out of that,’ and then we work together to kind of polish it. It all just works.”

The two actors have actually worked together quite often, shooting three movies together so far - Wedding Every Weekend, A Godwink Christmas and Christmas by Starlight.

Paul also cameoed in The Nine Kittens of Christmas last year, which Kimberley starred in, and she also cameos in this movie, too!

This isn’t the first movie that Kimberley and Paul collaborated on with the story, and in fact, Paul has actually written a handful of movies for the network.
