Universal Music chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge is in the hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.
The 60-year-old executive is currently receiving treatment at Los Angeles’ UCLA Medical Center, Variety reported on Sunday (March 15).
“Word of Grainge’s illness has rattled West Coast power players who attended his 60th birthday celebration on Feb. 29 in Palm Springs, multiple industry insiders said,” according to the report.
Attendees included Apple’s Tim Cook and music manager Irving Azoff.
UMG’s headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif. closed on Friday (March 13) after an unidentified employee, apparently Lucian, tested positive.
