Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance are honoring their close friends Magic Johnson and his wife Cookie.

The couples posed together on the red carpet as they arrived at the 2023 Elizabeth Taylor Ball to End AIDS on Thursday (September 21) held at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Fellow guests in attendance included Magic and Cookie‘s son EJ Johnson, Paris Jackson, Mean Girls actor Daniel Franzese, Samuel L. Jackson and wife LaTanya Richardson, Kathy & Rick Hilton, Chucky actress Jennifer Tilly, DWTS pro Gleb Savchenko and girlfriend Elena Belle, and Bling Empire star Christine Chiu.

Kelly Rowland, Quinta Brunson, & Issa Rae Bring Their Fashion A-Game to Wearable Art Gala 2022

The stars are stepping out for the 2022 Wearable Art Gala!

Kelly Rowland, Quinta Brunson, and Issa Rae joined tons of other stars at the event hosted by Tina Knowles-Lawson and Richard Lawson on Saturday evening (October 22) at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.

The theme for this year’s big event was “Harlem Nights,” and all of the guests celebrated the fashions of the 1920s-50s.

Keke Palmer served as emcee for the evening, which honored Angela Bassett and visual artist Mark Bradford. During the event, Chloe X Halle and Andra Day took to the stage for performances.

Gabrielle Union & Dwyane Wade Meet Up With Magic Johnson at 'They Call Me Magic' Series Premiere

Gabrielle Union keeps close to husband Dwyane Wade at the premiere of Apple’s They Call Me Magic held at Regency Village Theatre on Thursday (April 14) in Los Angeles.

The cute couple hit the red carpet alongside Magic Johnson and his entire family – wife Cookie, and their children, Andre, EJ, and Elisa Johnson, as well as Andre‘s wife, Lisa.

Other guests at the event included series contributors Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Samuel L. Jackson, Jerry West, and Stephen A. Smith. Sugar Ray Leonard, David Arquette, Patricia Arquette, Don Cheadle, Courtney B. Vance, Stevie Wonder, and Tina Knowles-Lawson were also there.

They Call Me Magic offers a rare glimpse into the incredible real-life story of Magic, who left his mark on history through his work — both on and off the court — and continues to impact our culture today.

The docu-series will debut on Friday, April 22, on Apple TV+.

Samuel L. Jackson & Dominique Fishback Hit The Premiere of 'Last Days of Ptolemy Grey' in LA

Samuel L. Jackson meets up with Dominique Fishback on the red carpet at the premiere of their new series, The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, held at The Bruin in Los Angeles on Monday night (March 7).

The two actors were joined by many of their co-stars including Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, Damon Gupton, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Omar Miller, DeRon Horton, Percy Daggs IV, and director Debbie Allen.

Other guests at the limited series premiere include Marvin ‘Krondon’ Jones III, Charity Jordan, Monique Coleman, Katherine McNamara, Don Cheadle, Tamberla Perry, Magic Johnson, Cookie Johnson, and Christine Horn.

The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey is based on the novel by bestselling author Walter Mosley, and centers on the title character, an ailing man forgotten by his family, by his friends, and by even himself.

Suddenly left without his trusted caretaker and on the brink of sinking even deeper into a lonely dementia, Ptolemy is assigned to the care of orphaned teenager Robyn. When they learn about a treatment that can temporarily restore Ptolemy’s dementia-addled memories, it begins a journey toward shocking truths about the past, present and future.

The limited series is set to debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, March 11.

Apple TV+ Announces Magic Johnson Docuseries

Magic Johnson is getting a documentary series!

The 62-year-old retired professional basketball player will be the subject of an Apple TV+ series, focusing on his life and career, the streamer announced Thursday (November 4).

The news comes just ahead of the 30th anniversary of the NBA Hall of Famer’s announcement of his HIV diagnosis on Sunday (November 7).

Magic Johnson Remembers Kobe Bryant on 'Kimmel': 'He Went Way Too Early' - Watch Here!

Magic Johnson appeared on Tuesday’s (January 28) episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and opened up about his longtime friend, the late Kobe Bryant!

The fellow NBA star and now retired athlete didn’t cancel his appearance and instead appeared on the show because, as he explained it, “Kobe wouldn’t have want me to cancel.”

“Kobe would want us all to carry on and be great in our lives,” Johnson told Jimmy. “And we should do something positive, whether it’s making sure that we love our family or giving back to an organization in his name. We should do something great, because he was such a great man, great husband, great father, incredible basketball player.”

“For 20 years, to wear the Laker purple and gold. And love playing the game, and then to see him just become a great father and husband, and he was enjoying life and went way too early,” Magic continued.

As Kimmel noted of the two basketball stars (who both played for the Lakers, but never at the same time), “You were his idol. That’s something.”

Billy Porter, Tony Shalhoub & More Step Out To Support 'A Soldier's Play' Broadway Opening!

Billy Porter keeps it chic as he strikes a pose on the red carpet at the opening night for A Soldier’s Play held at the American Airlines Theater on Tuesday (January 21) in New York City.

The 50-year-old Pose star was joined at the event by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘s Tony Shalhoub and his wife Brooke Adams, Weeds star Mary Louise Parker and her son William Parker, Magic Johnson and his wife Cookie, Kate Walsh, Sunny Hostin, Phylicia Rashad and Cicely Tyson as they all stepped out to show their support.

Also in attendance were the cast of the play David Alan Grier, Blair Underwood, Nnamdi Asomugha, Jerry O’Connell, McKinley Belcher III, Rob Demery, Jared Grimes, Billy Eugene Jones, Nate Mann, Warner Miller, J. Alphonse Nicholson, and Lee Aaron Rosen.

A Soldier’s Play follows an officer’s race against his white leadership to unravel the crime of a black sergeant’s murder. A hair-raising mystery set in 1944, the play is seen on Broadway for the first time.
