The first trailer for the Wicked movie has arrived!

Universal Pictures aired the first trailer for Wicked: Part One during the 2024 Super Bowl and you can watch the full clip right here.

Ariana Grande is starring as Glinda and Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo is taking on the role of Elphaba, the characters originated by Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel on Broadway over 20 years ago.

The first trailer didn’t feature any of the songs from the musical and only featured Elphaba’s battle cry from the end of “Defying Gravity” and other brief snippets of the song. We did get glimpses of Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum at the Wizard.

One highlight of the trailer was a glimpse of Dorothy, who is never actually seen in the Broadway show.

The first of two Wicked movies is set to be released in November 2024 and it’s rumored that a trailer will debut during the Super Bowl.

The Broadway musical is being turned into a two-part film adaptation directed by Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu.

Part One is set to be released in theaters on November 27, 2024 and Part Two will follow on November 26, 2025.

We’ve seen some photos of the cast on set and a few official photos have been released, but we haven’t yet seen any official footage from the movie.

During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night (January 25), the 61-year-old Oscar-winning actress explained why she almost turned down the role in director Jon M. Chu‘s adaption of the Broadway musical.

Actors are speaking out after Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie did not receive Oscar nominations for Best Director and Best Actress, respectively.

The 40-year-old director and the 33-year-old actress were expected to be recognized for their work on their hit Barbie film.

However, they were only acknowledged in the Best Picture category. Their costars, Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera, were nominated for their supporting roles.

Since the nominations were announced on Friday (January 23), lots of celebrities have reacted to the surprising Barbie-related results.

While several celebrities are disappointed about the “snubs,” others don’t see an issue with the nominations the way they are.

Ryan and America are among the actors who have been vocal so far.

Michelle Yeoh is stepping out for the premiere of her new Netflix series!

The 61-year-old Oscar-winning actress hit the red carpet at the premiere of The Brothers Sun on Thursday (January 4) held at the Netflix Tudum Theater in Los Angeles.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Sam Song Li, Justin Chien, Highdee Kuan, and Joon Lee.

Gwyneth Paltrow also attended the premiere to support husband Brad Falchuk, who co-created the new series with Byron Wu.

Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh‘s new series The Brothers Sun has its first trailer!

Here’s the show’s synopsis: When the head of a powerful Taiwanese triad is shot by a mysterious assassin, his eldest son, legendary killer Charles “Chairleg” Sun (Justin Chien) heads to Los Angeles to protect his mother, Eileen (Michelle Yeoh), and his naive younger brother, Bruce (Sam Song Li) — who’s been completely sheltered from the truth of his family until now. But as Taipei’s deadliest societies and a new rising faction go head-to-head for dominance — Charles, Bruce and their mother must heal the wounds caused by their separation and figure out what brotherhood and family truly mean before one of their countless enemies kills them all.
