Ozzy Osbourne Recalls Trying To Kill Wife Sharon: 'Not Exactly One Of My Greatest Achievements'

Ozzy Osbourne is opening up about how he once tried to murder his wife Sharon in 1989.

In the new documentary, The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne, both Ozzy and Sharon looked back on the incident, which happened while he was on drugs.

Sharon recalled that after she put their kids to bed and she was sitting down to read that “he came into the room” with her, but she didn’t recognize him because of the drugs, she explained (via Yahoo).

“I had no idea who was sat across from me on the sofa but it wasn’t my husband. He goes to a stage where he gets that look in his eyes, the shutters were down and I just couldn’t get through to him. And he just said, ‘We’ve come to a decision that you’ve got to die.’”

Sharon added, “He was calm — very calm — then suddenly he lunged across at me and just dived on me and started to choke me. He got me down on the ground on top of me and I was feeling for stuff on the table. I felt the panic button and I just pressed it and the next thing I know, the cops were there.”

Ozzy admitted that is was “not exactly one of my greatest achievements” however, he says he “felt the calmest I had ever felt in my life. I was just peaceful. … All I remember is waking up in Amersham jail and I asked the cop, ‘Why am I here?’ And he says, ‘You want me to read your charge?’ So he read, ‘John Michael Osbourne, you have been arrested for attempted murder.’”

After the incident, Ozzy was sentenced to six months in medical detention, and Sharon weighed her options in seeking a divorce from him or not.

“I told him, ‘I don’t want the money… but if you do this again, either I am going to kill you or you are going to kill me. And do you want that for the kids?’”

Ozzy and Sharon have been married since 1982 and share three children – Aimee, Jack and Kelly.

The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne will air tonight, September 7 on A&E at 9/8c.

Just recently, Aimee opened up about why she was never a part of the family’s reality show. See what she shared…

Ozzy Osbourne Was Convinced He Was Dying Following Health Issues

Ozzy Osbourne is opening up about his health issues in a brand new interview on SiriusXM.

Last year, the 71-year-old heavy metal singer had several medical issues, including a fall, neck surgery and hospitalization for the flu.

During the virtual interview, Ozzy sat down with wife Sharon and their son Jack and spoke with Jenny McCarthy and shared that he’s still not 100% better.

“I’m not back to 100 percent. I’m about 75 percent there, but it’s such a slow recovery. Spine surgery is bad news, man. I’ve been in such a bad state with pain; I’m still having a lot of pain,” he said.

Ozzy added that “there was a point I was convinced that I was dying. I was in that much discomfort and pain and misery. I thought they were all hiding it from me. I remember saying to Sharon, ‘You’ve gotta level with me. Is it worse than you’re making it out [to be]?’ She says, ‘No.’ … I’ve dropped all the medication for pain now.”

Ozzy is looking forward though to getting back on stage and getting back to a normal life as his health improves and hopefully, the pandemic lessens.

“I cannot wait [to get on stage], but I was talking to Tony Iommi the other day, and he was saying with the way it’s going with this coronavirus, indoor shows will be a thing of the past.”

Ozzy Osbourne Cancels His 2020 Tour Due to Health Issues

Ozzy Osbourne is no longer going on tour in 2020 due to the health issues he has been suffering since early 2019.

The legendary rocker was scheduled to launch his No More Tours 2 tour in late May 2020, but he has decided that he’s going to cancel the tour now so that there are no last-minute cancellations because of his health.

“I’m so thankful that everyone has been patient because I’ve had a shit year,” Ozzy said in a statement. “Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get to Switzerland for treatment until April and the treatment takes six-eight weeks.”

“I don’t want to start a tour and then cancel shows at the last minute, as it’s just not fair to the fans,” he added. “I’d rather they get a refund now and when I do the North American tour down the road, everyone who bought a ticket for these shows will be the first ones in line to purchase tickets at that time.”

Fans who bought tickets for the No More Tours 2 tour will have first access to tickets when a new tour is announced. Refunds are available at the point of purchase, according to Variety.
