The stars of Pan – Hugh Jackman, Levi Miller and Garrett Hedlund – pose for photos on the press line held during 2015 Comic-Con on Saturday (July 11) in San Diego, Calif.

Director Joe Wright was also in attendance to give the audience the low down on the upcoming film.

In the film Hugh, who often portrays a superhero, is given the opportunity to play the bad guy in his role as the pirate Blackbeard.

Both Hugh and Joe explained that the film tried to showcase the idea that adults are often “frightening and ridiculous” to children and it was important for the perspective of the film.

Pan is set to be released this September.

The first trailer for the film Pan, which features Christina Perri‘s song “I Believe,” has just arrived and it’s loaded with action and our first glimpse at footage from the film.

The movie stars Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara, and young Levi Miller as Peter Pan.

Pan is the story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny — to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.

The movie will hit theaters on July 17, 2015. Check out the new character posters below…

Rooney Mara has just joined the cast of the highly anticipated upcoming film Pan to play the role of Tiger Lily, Variety reports!

The 28-year-old actress will join previously announced actors Hugh Jackman and Garrett Hedlund, who will play Blackbeard and Hook, respectively.

Tiger Lily is the princess of a group of inhabitants living on the island of Neverland, where the story takes place.

No other casting has yet to be revealed for the film. We can’t wait!

Pan will be released next year on July 17, 2015.
