Barack Obama is opening up about being in quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic and what it was like to have his daughter Malia Obama‘s boyfriend stay at their home.

The former President of the United States made an appearance on the Bill Simmons Podcast this week and talked about reconnecting with his daughters – Malia, 22, and Sasha, 19 – this year.

“It’s a blessing because all the teenage stuff is kind of gone now and they’re just back, and they love you again and they want to spend time with you,” Obama said. “And they’re funny. Like I think a lot of families, we went through that first month where we were playing games every night and doing a little arts and crafts projects and then slowly they started to get a little bored with us. Maybe teaching Malia and Sasha, and Malia‘s boyfriend, who was with us for a little while, Spades.”

Malia Obama and her boyfriend Rory Farquharson are still going strong!

The 21-year-old former First Daughter and her longtime beau were spotted during a night out on Friday (July 12) at Resident in Downtown LA.

Sources tell JustJared.com that Malia and Rory stopped by for the venue’s “Club Soulside” evening, where they enjoyed Motown, Soul and Reggae music on the lush garden patio.

The couple was last spotted while spending time together in London last summer.

Malia and Rory met as students at Harvard, where she is a rising junior, and have been dating since 2017.

The 20-year-old former First Daughter has been spending time in London this summer on her summer break from college. She will be returning to Harvard University in the fall for her sophomore year.

The couple was spotted holding hands during a romantic stroll around London one week earlier.

Malia Obama spends time with her boyfriend Rory Farquharson on Thursday night (July 26) in London, England.

The 20-year-old former First Daughter was spotted strolling around the streets of Mayhair after finishing up a meal at C Restaurant. The couple was seen doing some windowing shopping and looking inside the Breitling watch store, according to photographers.

Malia and Rory met as students at Harvard University last year. She is heading back in the fall for her sophomore year at the school.
