Michael Phelps is joined on the red carpet by wife Nicole Johnson and son Boomer as they arrive at the Golden Goggles Awards on Monday night (November 21) at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

The 31-year-old Olympian was honored with three awards – including USA Swimming’s 2016 Male Athlete of the Year – during the night for his achievements in swimming this year.

Michael was joined at the event by his relay-team members Caeleb Dressel, Ryan Held, and Nathan Adrian.

Inside the event, Michael opened up about his secret wedding to Nicole earlier this year.

Leslie Jones is continuing her live tweeting and video commentary from the 2016 Rio Olympics – and you better believe she had some great reactions to USA’s Caeleb Dressel, Michael Phelps, Nathan Adrian, and Ryan Held winning gold in the men’s 4 x 100m men’s freestyle relay.

Michael Phelps cheers as he and his team win gold at the Men’s 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay during the 2016 Rio Olympics on Sunday (August 7) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 31-year-old swimmer and his teammates – Caeleb Dressel, Ryan Held, and Nathan Adrian – came in first place and won the gold! France won silver and Australia won bronze.

This is Michael‘s 19th gold medal in total for all of his Olympic appearances. Congratulations!

With the competition rounds of the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics kicking off this weekend, let’s take a moment to meet the U.S. Men’s Swimming Team!

The team will feature such star athletes as Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, Nathan Adrian, and Conor Dwyer, who have all represented the U.S. in previous games.

Some of the star rookies that you should keep an eye on include 21-year-old Ryan Murphy, the current American record-holder in the 100- and 200-meter men’s backstroke.

19-year-old Caeleb Dressel is also considered to be one to watch. He will be competing in the 100-meter freestyle race.
