Sam Worthington is sharing an update on the future Avatar movies!
On Wednesday night (November 29), the 46-year-old actor stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the second Avatar movie, Avatar: The Way of Water.
During his interview, Sam shared an update on production on the upcoming third and fourth installments in the movie franchise.

Sam Worthington brings wife Lara Worthington to the very first premiere event for his new movie, Avatar: The Way of Water, held at Hoyts Entertainment Quarter on Monday (November 21) in Sydney, Australia.
The longtime couple were joined by Cliff Curtis, who stars as Tonowari, the leader of the Metkayina Clan, in the sequel movie.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Sam opened up about how the film touches on the ups and downs of parenthood.
“Jim [James Cameron, director] wrote this family in a great way where not only are the stakes life and death, but the conflicts are quite domestic,” he says. “You’re still having these arguments with kids that you have every day, like, ‘Pick up your clothes, eat your food,’ even though the world is at war.”
He added, “To be honest, I’ve used a lot of what I learned from reacting to teenage boys in the movie and put it back into my real life, because I’ve got three boys — it’s a zoo at my house — and someone’s got to be the Great Santini and keep them in line.”
Sam and Lara share three boys, Rocket, Racer and River.

The stars of the upcoming movie Avatar: The Way of Water were all at the 2022 D23 Expo!
Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang were all on hand to debut some new footage from the film at the convention on Saturday (September 10) in Anaheim, Calif.
They were joined by producer Jon Landau and the film’s new young stars – Jack Champion, Bailey Bass, Jamie Flatters, and Trinity Bliss.
Director James Cameron appeared at the event virtually as he’s in New Zealand while working on the film.
“It’s going great and the stuff coming in from Weta is looking spectacular,” he said (via Deadline). “I’m super excited to be finally finishing up movie 2. I know everyone’s been waiting a long time. Hopefully, we’ll show something today and you can decide if it’s been worth it.”
“The whole movie deals with protecting family. We’ve all gone through Covid and realized that love and being with family is paramount to what life is and it’s worth fighting for. We put that in the movie,” Sam added.

Sienna Miller and Sam Worthington have joined the upcoming western movie, Horizon.
The two actors will star opposite Yellowstone actor Kevin Costner in the upcoming flick, according to The Wrap.
Horizon is described as Kevin‘s passion project, which he also co-wrote and will direct.
The film is “a saga spanning 15 years before and after the Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West.”
“Experienced through the eyes of many, the epic journey is fraught with peril and intrigue from the constant onslaught of natural elements, to the interactions with the indigenous peoples who lived on the land, and the determination and at many times ruthlessness of those who sought to settle it,” the description adds.
Sienna and Sam will lead the flick, with Jamie Campbell Bower also starring.
“I am so excited to go on this epic journey with such a legendary actor and director at the helm. The story is riveting. I am very honored to be a part of it,” Sienna said in a statement.
Sam added, “I am very excited and humbled to go on this incredible and important journey with Kevin, who is one of the industry’s finest and inspiring storytellers.”
