The Sandman creator Neil Gaiman is explaining why Netflix could choose to not renew The Sandman for a second season, despite being the number one show on the streamer.
The Sandman, starring Tom Sturridge, is the worldwide number one show on the streaming service with over 127 million hours viewed in the week of August 8-August 14, but the fan favorite series could still not be greenlit for a second season.

Tom Sturridge stars as Dream in the first look at the new show, which is based off of Neil Gaiman‘s comic of the same name.

The graphic novel Sandman is going to be turned into a Netflix television series!
Neil Gaiman is the author of the comic and now Netflix is reportedly going to work with Warner Bros. Television to turn the story into a live-action series.
THR reports that the series will be the “most expensive TV series that DC Entertainment has ever done.”
Sandman follows the “dark and enchanting world of dreams and nightmares–the home of Morpheus, the King of Dreams, and his kin, the Endless.”
