Chris Hemsworth is going to be back on Netflix with a new movie!

The 38-year-old actor walked the red carpet for a special screening of his new film Spiderhead on Saturday (June 11) at The Entertainment Quarter in Sydney, Australia.

This marks Chris‘ second movie for Netflix following the hit 2020 film Extraction. A sequel for that one is already in the works!

Spiderhead, also starring Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollett, will be released on June 17.

Here’s a synopsis: In a state-of-the-art penitentiary run by brilliant visionary Steve Abnesti (Hemsworth), inmates wear a surgically attached device that administers dosages of mind-altering drugs in exchange for commuted sentences. There are no bars, no cells, or orange jumpsuits. In Spiderhead, incarcerated volunteers are free to be themselves. Until they’re not. At times, they’re a better version. Need to lighten up? There’s a drug for that. At a loss for words? There’s a drug for that, too. But when two subjects, Jeff (Teller) and Lizzy (Smollett), form a connection, their path to redemption take a twistier turn, as Abnesti’s experiments start to push the limits of free will altogether.

Chris Hemsworth has a new movie being added to Netflix and the first images from the film have been revealed!

Spiderhead also stars Miles Teller, Jurnee Smollett, Mark Paguio, and Tess Haubrich, and it was directed by Top Gun: Maverick‘s Joseph Kosinski.

Chris Hemsworth is teaming up with Netflix again, this time for an upcoming movie called Spiderhead.

The 37-year-old actor will star alongside Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollett in the upcoming film, which will be directed by Joseph Kosinski, according to Deadline.

Spiderhead, which is based on a short story by George Saunders, “is set in the near future, when convicts are offered the chance to volunteer as medical subjects in hopes of shortening their sentences. The focus is on two prisoners who become the test patients for emotion-altering drugs that force the prisoners to grapple with their pasts in a facility run by a brilliant visionary who supervises the program.”

Chris previously worked with Netflix on the movie Extraction, which was a giant hit for the streaming service.

Joseph will begin working on Spiderhead after wrapping Top Gun: Maverick, which also stars Miles.
