Simon Rex takes the podium after winning Best Actor at the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards at the Santa Monica Pier on Sunday afternoon (March 6) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 47-year-old actor picked up the trophy for his role in Red Rocket.

“My career was in the toilet, I moved out to Joshua Tree thinking it was over,” Simon shared in his speech on stage, before he got a call for the role.

He added, “We shot this film during Covid, even finishing it was ambitious. I’m just grateful for Sean’s [Baker, director] trust in me.”

Simon even mentioned that the cast and crew even hid from police to make the movie.

Simon‘s fellow nominees Clifton Collins Jr, Udo Kier, Frankie Faison, and Michael Greyeyes were also seen at the event, alongside Best Supporting Actor nominee Chaske Spencer.

Jennifer Coolidge steps out in a vibrant pink dress for the premiere of her new film, Swan Song, held at iPic Theaters on Thursday (August 5) in Los Angeles.

The 59-year-old actress joined her co-stars Udo Kier and Jonah Blechman, as well as director Todd Stephens at the event.

Swan Song centers on a retired hairdresser and local bar performer icon Pat Pitsenbarger (Kier) who has given up on life from the confines of his small-town Sandusky, Ohio nursing home.

But when Pat gets word that a former client’s dying wish was for him to style her final hairdo, he sets out on an epic journey across Sandusky to confront the ghosts of his past – and collect the beauty supplies necessary for the job.

Jennifer stars as Dee Dee in the film.

Swan Song is out now in theaters and will be On Demand on August 13.

Laura Dern, Kristen Wiig, and Hong Chau premiered their new movie Downsizing in Los Angeles!

The actresses joined forces at the Regency Village Theatre on Monday (December 18) in Westwood.

Laura rocked a black and grey dress with matching lace-up boots, Kristen sported a one-shoulder black and white gown, and Hong sparkled in a long-sleeve silver sequin dress.

They were joined by their co-stars Christoph Waltz, James Van Der Beek, Niecy Nash, Udo Kier, Paul Mabon, Margareta Pettersson, Kerri Kenney, Ingjerd Egeberg, Tim Driscoll, and director Alexander Payne.

Virginia Madsen, Melissa Bolona, Joe P. Harris also stepped out to show their support.

Downsizing – also starring Matt Damon – is a social satire in which a guy realizes he would have a better life if he were to shrink himself.
