Greg Berlanti & Ava DuVernay Are the Patron of the Artists Award Recipients This Year!

Greg Berlanti and Ava DuVernay were recipients of the top honor of the night at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s 2019 Patron of the Artists Awards on Thursday (November 7) at the Wallis Annenberg Center of the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, Calif.

They were both presented with the Patron of the Artists Award.

Greg, who is a television producer, showrunner, and director, received his award from legendary producer and writer Norman Lear.

Ava, who is an award-winning writer and director, received her award from actor David Oyelowo, who starred in her movie Selma.

Hank Azaria opened the event with a speech and there were musical performances from Harriet‘s Cynthia Erivo, This Is UsChrissy Metz, former The Voice contestant Wé McDonald, and Grmamy winner Patti Austin.

Chrissy, who stars in the movie Breakthrough, performed a song written for the film by Diane Warren, who joined her at the event.

FYI: Ava is wearing a Greta Constantine gown.

VIDEO: John Legend Performs with We McDonald on 'The Voice' Finale!

John Legend hit the stage with We McDonald during the finale of The Voice to perform his song “Love Me Now” and the it was such a great performance!

All four of the finalists got to perform with a famous star during the finale and the young singer from Alicia Keys‘ team got to sing with John.

'The Voice' Winner for Season 11: Who Should Win Top Honors?

The Voice season 11 finale is set to air tonight, and we will finally know who is the winner of this mega-talented group of singers.

Team Adam‘s Billy Gilman, Team Blake‘s Sundance Head, Team Alicia‘s We McDonald, and Team Adam‘s Josh Gallagher all remain in the finals before tonight’s finale.

According to Gold Derby, a notable prediction site, Billy has the best odds to win at 8/11.

We is in second place with 3/1 odds. Sundance has 13/2 odds and Josh, currently ranking in last place, has 22/1 odds.

We McDonald showed off her versatility once again during The Voice finale show on Monday night (December 12)

During the program, the 17-year-old singer performed a rendition of Barbra Streisand‘s “Don’t Rain on My Parade.”

She was also joined on stage by her coach Alicia Keys for an incredible duet of “Ave Maria.”

Later, We debuted her touching original song “Wishes,” which she got to shoot a music video for!

'The Voice' Top 8 Finalists Meet Matthew McConaughey at 'Sing' Premiere!

The finalists on season 11 of The Voice got quite the treat this weekend when they ran into Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey!

Top 8 singers Brendan Fletcher, Josh Gallagher, and Ali Caldwell snapped a photo with him at the premiere of his new movie Sing on Saturday (December 3) in Los Angeles.

Also in attendance were fellow contestants Billy Gilman, Christian Cuevas, Sundance Head, Wé McDonald, and Aaron Gibson.

“So we just met @McConaughey! @iamAliCaldwell @brendanjfletch #NoBigDeal,” Josh tweeted with the photo.

Wé McDonald continued to slay with her performances on The Voice with her rendition of the song “Love On the Brain” by Rihanna!

The 17-year-old New York native got the opportunity to close out the Top 11 show on Monday night (November 21).

Only We‘s coach Alicia Keys was given the chance to speak after the performance due to time restrictions.

“We, you always come with it. You’re so young, but you sing like you’ve had a trillion, thousand years of experience… You deserve everything. You deserve to be here and you deserve to soar,” she said.
