Andrew Garfield & Wyatt Russell Promote 'Under The Banner Of Heaven' During FYC Emmy Event in LA

Andrew Garfield joins his co-stars at the Disney FYC Event for Under The Banner Of Heaven held at El Capitan Theatre on Sunday night (June 5) in Los Angeles.

The 38-year-old actor met up with Wyatt Russell, Tyner Rushing and executive producer Dustin Lance Black at the event, which featured a panel discussion about the FX on Hulu series, which centers on Detective Jeb Pyre as he investigates the murder of Brenda Wright Lafferty and her baby daughter in a suburb in the Salt Lake Valley.

“It was very heartfelt and personal in the way that it honored Brenda Lafferty and her daughter Erica, who were murdered so brutally,” Andrew shared while speaking of the limited series with Toronto Sun recently.

He also opened up about going from playing Jonathan Larson in tick, tick…Boom! to “an internal, less-expressive Mormon cop from the ’80s. That felt like an interesting place to try working some different acting muscles. So that was a great experience as well.”

Here’s how else he prepared for the role.

Under the Banner of Heaven is streaming on Hulu now.

FYI: Andrew is wearing Brioni with Santoni shoes.

Wyatt Russell Reveals His Very First Audition Was For This Marvel Character

Before he was cast as US Agent in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Wyatt Russell auditioned for another Marvel character.

The 34-year-old actor appeared on Good Morning America this week and revealed that he actually auditioned for Captain America years ago. The role was portrayed by Chris Evans for just about ten years in the Avengers franchise.

In fact, it was his first real audition.

“I think that honestly, the first audition was really more just something to read, to see if I was any good at acting or not,” Wyatt admitted. “I don’t think I was ever actually in competition for the role, but it was crazy.”

For his new role as John Walker, aka US Agent, Wyatt says that he had “no idea” about who he was playing.

Earlier this month, Wyatt opened up about the big reveal about his character and weighed in on if Marvel fans are included to hate him.

If you missed it, meet the villain of the show, Karli Morgenthau!
