Blackbear and Mike Posner are explaining the meaning behind the Ariana Grande reference in their new song, “… The Green Spangled Banner.”

The musicians recently teamed up to release their second album together, Mansionz 2. (Their first album, released back in 2017, was just called Mansionz.)

The opening track, which has the Ariana reference, sets the tone for an intentionally chaotic and experimental project.

The duo explained their reasoning behind that lyric during a Thursday (November 2) interview on The Zach Sang Show.

“Hard on Yourself” comes a few months after Charlie released his song “Girlfriend” back in June.

A few weeks after releasing the song, Charlie dropped the music video for “Girlfriend,” which you can watch here.

Charlie‘s last album Voicenotes was released in 2018, and it seems like he’s been hard at work writing and recording new music while under quarantine.

The 30-year-year-rapper teamed up with Blackbear for the new song “My Ex’s Best Friend.”

The single is the latest song off of his highly-anticipated pop-punk album, Tickets To My Downfall, which is scheduled to be released on September 25.

Back in May, Machine Gun Kelly released the music video for his song “Bloody Valentine,” which features his new girlfriend Megan Fox.

The 33-year-old “Hate Me” singer dropped the new song, featuring Blackbear, on Friday (March 13).

In the immersive short film sees Joey running away as fast as she can from a militarized police force, dubbed Silencers, in a dystopian reality.

They take any means necessary to mute the outspoken members of society.

The video was directed by Christian Breslauer and shot in Los Angeles.

Blackbear has released his new song and music video for “Hot Girl Bummer!”

The 28-year-old singer shared the track and visual with fans on Friday (August 23).

The vibrant song shows off Blackbear‘s songwriting over a catchy beat, and keeping with the song’s tongue-in-cheek tone, it also includes a sample from Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie.

The concept of the song came to Blackbear in July after seeing the #hotgirlsummer trend all over social media.

Blackbear will kick off the European leg of his Dead 2 the World Tour this September, in support of his fifth studio album ANONYMOUS, released on April 26.
