David Duchovny Auditioned For All The Lead Roles On This Sitcom & Didn't Get Any!

David Duchovny is opening up about his failed auditions for a very popular 1990s sitcom – Full House!

During his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing Monday, October 18, the 61-year-old actor opened up about his audition for Danny Tanner, Uncle Jesse and even Joey Gladstone, which were all ultimely played by Bob Saget, John Stamos and Dave Coulier.

David joked that he went out for all three of the roles, and even the little girls’ roles, too.

“It was my first time out in LA and I ended up going to a lot of Full House stuff. They kept trying to plug me into the show, and I was wrong for every single one of them.”

This isn’t the first time David has spoke about his Full House auditions. He also told the story on Jimmy Kimmel Live a few years ago, too.

“I wanted to eat,” David joked at the time about wanting one of the roles. “I would go home and I would get the call, ‘You’re not that guy.’ I’d go in for this guy … not that guy. I’d go in for this guy … not that guy. Go home.”
