Here's Why Dwayne Johnson Turned Down Hosting The Emmys

Dwayne Johnson has revealed that he was offered the hosting job for the upcoming 2022 Emmys – but he turned it down.

While promoting his new movie, DC League of Super-Pets, the 50-year-old actor opened up to Entertainment Tonight and shared that he was approached to host the award show.

Dwayne revealed that it came down to the schedule.

“It was just schedule. I was really, truly honored when they came to me and asked, but it was just a scheduling thing,” he shared with the outlet. “That’s all. That’s really what it comes down to.”

A source also told ET that “he’s in the middle of his tour and is preparing for the taping of his comedy special, which will be taping this fall.”

The Emmy Awards will air on September 12 on NBC and Peacock at 5 p.m. PT in a live three-hour telecast. See who was shockingly left off the nomination list here.
