Disney+ & Hulu Reveal Release Date For Ad-Supported Tier; Pricing Increases Will Start This Fall

Get ready for another price increase for Disney+ and Hulu.

Announced earlier this year, Disney+ is about to launch its ad-supported version in December, and as a result, the price will be going up for the ad-free Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+.

Click inside to read all the details about the increase for the streamers…

Here’s the breakdown in the price increase:

On December 8, Disney+ with ads will cost $7.99 a month, which is the same price that Disney+ currently costs, without ads. On that date, the premium, ad-free version of Disney+ will now cost $10.99 a month or $109.99 a year. This is a $30 yearly increase.

In addition, Hulu will also increase their prices for both its ad-supported and ad-free tier beginning on October 10.

The ad-supported tier, which currently costs $6.99 a month ($69.99 a year) will now be $7.99 a month. The ad-free tier, currently $12.99 a month, will be bumped up to $14.99 a month. There is no yearly subscription option for this tier.

ESPN+ will also increase in price from $6.99 a month to $9.99 a month on August 23.

THR reports that the streaming bundle will also be adjusted in price, too.

The basic plan, that includes Disney+ with ads and Hulu with ads but no ESPN+, will cost $9.99 a month. Subscribers who want ESPN+ in their bundle will have to pay $12.99 a month for all three services with ads.

If you already have an existing Disney bundle for all three, there will be an increase from $13.99 a month to $14.99 a month. The other bundle – of Disney+ without ads, Hulu without ads and ESPN+, will remain the same price at $19.99 a month.

If you missed it, Netflix is also adding an ad-supported tier to their subscription options.
