Disney+ Only Canceled 10 Major TV Shows Since 2019 with 7 Cancellations Happening in 2023

Disney+ has canceled so much content in 2023 already.

Interestingly enough, between 2019 (which is when Disney+ launched) until 2022, the streamer only canceled 3 TV shows.

We’ve compiled a list of all the major television shows they’ve canceled (we’re not including any smaller shows that were not given much press or any children’s programming.) We’re also not including any TV shows that are simply coming to an end – only true canceled content.

Most of the cancellations have happened this year.

Disney+ Cancels 7 TV Shows in 2023, Announces 2 Fan Favorites Are Ending (& 1 Huge Hit Likely Won't Get a Second Season)

Disney+ just canceled another original TV show this year and fans are not happy with the string of cancellations this year.

Prior to 2023, the streamer had only canceled 3 original shows. Now, they canceled 7 in one year.

There have also been other decisions made about Disney+ content recently, including several shows that are ending.

'Daredevil' Reboot Cast: 3 Stars Return, 2 Exit, & 1 Star Has Been Recast Amid Major Creative Shakeup

There are some major changes happening to the Daredevil reboot TV series from Marvel, currently titled Daredevil: Born Again.

Less than half of the episodes had been filmed by the time the WGA and actors’ strikes had began over the summer, and when execs reviewed the footage of the episodes that had been completed… apparently some changes were put into place.

THR is reporting that the show is now undergoing a creative reboot, and Marvel has let go of head writers, Chris Ord and Matt Corman, as well as the rest of the show’s directors.

Now, we are learning about the show’s stars who are returning and who has been replaced.

If you don’t know, Netflix originally aired a Daredevil series for three seasons beginning in 2015. Other Marvel/Netflix shows that aired were The Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and The Defenders.

Marvel Studios’ upcoming series Echo is coming soon and the show is set to make history in multiple ways!

The five-episode streaming event spotlights Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) as she is pursued by Wilson Fisk’s (Vincent D’Onofrio) criminal empire. When the journey brings her home, she must confront her own family and legacy.

Also starring in the series are Chaske Spencer, Graham Greene, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon, and Cody Lightning.

'The Santa Clauses' Season 2 Cast: 5 Stars Returning, 3 New Stars Join, 2 Exit & 1 Moves Down to Recurring

The Santa Clauses is returning for a second season in exactly one week on Disney+!

Here’s a synopsis: The Calvin family is back in the North Pole as Scott Calvin continues his role as Santa Claus after retirement plans were thwarted when failing to find a worthy successor in season one. Now that Scott and his family have successfully saved Christmas, Scott turns his focus towards training his son Cal to eventually take over the “family business” as Santa Claus. However, a bit of North Pole magic brings an unexpected challenge to Scott’s plan.

With the new season ahead, there has been some casting shakeups from the first season to the second.

The Santa Clauses season two premieres it’s first two episodes NEXT Wednesday (November 8) on Disney+, with new episodes weekly. Watch the trailer here!
