Buffalo Bills Release Statement About Damar Hamlin’s Condition Following Collapse on Football Field

There’s a new update about Damar Hamlin, hours after he collapsed on the field in the middle of the game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals.
During the game on Monday night (January 2), the 24-year-old player collapsed to the ground after tackling Tee Higgins. He was treated on the field for more than 10 minutes by the medical team, who reportedly administered oxygen and used an AED.
Following an ambulance driving on field and taking him to the hospital, the Buffalo Bills have released a statement about his current condition.

In a statement posted to Twitter, the NFL team revealed that Damar has suffered cardiac arrest.
“Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals,” the statement read. “His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.”

Following the incident on the field, the Bills and Bengals suspended the game “until further notice” as a result of Damar‘s injury.
