Bam Margera Opens Up About Recent Hospitalization Where He Was Put On Ventilator

Bam Margera was near death last month, and he’s opening up about exactly what was wrong in a new interview.

The 43-year-old Jackass alum was hospitalized and put on a ventilator in early December. The initial diagnosis was pneumonia, according to Variety.

However, he told former co-star Steve-O that he was battling a lot more during that time while on his podcast Steve-O’s Wild Ride.

Bam told his friend that his situation was extremely dire.

“Basically, I was pronounced dead on December 8,” he revealed. While he wound up with pneumonia, his was also diagnosed with COVID-19. The illness left his body “shutting down.”

“I went into four seizures, each one lasting 10 to 20 minutes,” he explained. “On the fourth one I bit my tongue so hard it was nearly fallen off. It got so swollen and puffy it wouldn’t fit in my mouth. I was drinking the infected blood which gave me pneumonia as well.”

His fifth seizure took place in the hospital, and he was having troubles breathing.

“I woke up five days later thinking I was there for just a couple hours. I spent eight days in there. When they took that tube out I felt like I sucked on Darth Vader’s d-ck,” he joked about the truly scary situation.

Steve-O asked if he had “a near-death experience,” but Bam said not this time. His friend added that he was afraid that he would die.

We’re so glad he made a recovery!
