Melissa Etheridge Pays Tribute To David Crosby, Who Fathered Her Children

Melissa Etheridge is mourning the loss of her friend David Crosby, who sadly died at the age of 81.

The 61-year-old musician said that she was grateful that he gave her the “gift of family.”

David was the sperm donor for two of Melissa and her then-partner, Julie Cypher‘s children, Bailey and Beckett.

“I am grieving the loss of my friend and Bailey’s biological father, David. He gave me the gift of family,” Melissa wrote on Instagram. “I will forever be grateful to him, Django, and Jan. His music and legacy will inspire many generations to come. A true treasure.”

In 2020, Beckett Cypher tragically died of an opioid overdose.

David later responded to a tweet that suggested he had no contact with Beckett. “Not true,” he said.

Melissa also has a daughter and son with former partner Tammy Lynn Michaels, conceived by an anonymous donor.
