Michelle Yeoh Becomes First Asian to Win Best Actress at Oscars 2023

Michelle Yeoh did it!
The 60-year-old actress won the award for Best Actress at the 2023 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 12) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
Michelle was nominated for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once, playing the role of Evelyn.
This was Michelle‘s first nomination at the Oscars, also making her the first Malaysian to receive an Academy Award nomination in any category. She is now the first Asian actress to win Best Actress at the Oscars.
“For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities. This is proof. Dream big, and dreams do come true. And ladies, don’t let you that you are ever past your prime,” she declared.
“I have to dedicate this to my mom. All the moms in the world. Because they are really the superheroes, and without them, none of us would be here tonight. She’s 84, and I’m taking this home to her.”
The Oscars were hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, marking his third time as the emcee. The movie Everything Everywhere All at Once led the pack this year with 11 nominations. Check out the full list of winners here!
