Matthew Rhys Kept His Romance With Keri Russell A Secret For A Full Year

Matthew Rhys is opening up about the early days of his romance with Keri Russell.

The 48-year-old actor met Keri, 47, on the set of their FX series, The Americans, and in a new interview, revealed that they actually kept their relationship a secret for a full year.

During his appearance on Watch What Happens Live!, Matthew revealed that he and Keri were able to keep their off-screen relationship private for a quite a while.

“About a solid year, I would say,” he revealed about how long it was kept on the down low.

Matthew then added that “it’s those sneaky PAs who get onto it, you know?” before sharing that some crew members would be on their headsets talking about the pair.

He also opened up about the exact day and event where he asked her out.

“We went to a kickball party hosted by Jennifer Grey,” he said, adding that he asked for her number there. “She gave it to me, but this is where it all falls apart. I have no memory of this because I was very inebriated, but I left a very inebriated message on her answering machine, as people had in those days.”

Matthew and Keri have been together since 2014 and have one son, Sam, born in 2016.
