Emma Stone & Yorgos Lanthimos Reunite In 'Poor Things' - Teaser Trailer Released!

Emma Stone transforms in her role in Yorgos Lanthimos‘ latest film Poor Things.

This marks Yorgos’ first feature since his Oscar-winning 2018 film The Favourite, which starred Emma Stone.

“I am finding being alive fascinating,” Emma‘s character says in the teaser.

Keep reading to find out more…Poor Things follows the incredible tale and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter’s protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.

Yorgos is also known for directing The Killing of a Sacred Deer, Dogtooth, and The Lobster. He also has a forthcoming film titled AND. He also reunites with The Favourite writer Tony McNamara, who also wrote the screenplay for Poor Things.

Emma is also a producer on the film and she also co-stars alongside Margaret Qualley, Christopher Abbott, Jerrod Carmichael, and Ramy Youssef.

Searchlight Pictures will release the Poor Things on September 8.
