Channing Tatum Explains Why He Is Done With 'Magic Mike'

Channing Tatum says Magic Mike’s Last Dance is really his last dance.

The 43-year-old actor starred in Magic Mike (2012), Magic Mike XXL (2015) and most recently, Magic Mike’s Last Dance (2023).

But Channing did leave the door open for one possibility – coming back as a geriatric stripper. “That would be the only thing I would come back for, ‘Grumpy Old Strippers’,” he joked with People. “Like ‘Grumpy Old Men: Septuagenarian Strippers’.”

Channing recently reflected on the Magic Mike series in light of all of the recent streaming services and how money is spent on movies. “We made Magic Mike 2 for $12 million dollars and they spent $60-$70 million dollars to sell it. So, we’re spending exponentially more money to sell a movie than actually make the thing for you. That should be the other way around,” he said, thinking about how streamers have impacted storytelling.
