Channing Tatum Says He Only Works Out Because He's Naked in So Many of His Films

Channing Tatum is getting real about his fitness!

The 41-year-old actor visited The Kelly Clarkson Show on Tuesday (May 4) and discussed Meg Boggs‘ book Fitness for Every Body, which follows her fitness journey and road to self-acceptance.

Channing said of the book, “As someone who works out for a job, I promise you: I would not look like this unless I had to be naked in most of my movies, mostly.”

“At some point I have to get better at acting so I don’t have to be naked in all of them,” he said as Kelly laughed. “I literally get to work out as a job and it’s still hard.

Channing continued, “I can’t imagine people that have a 9-5 job, who have kids at home, where do they get the energy and the time to actually focus on themselves?”

Kelly also asked if Channing ever has cheat days, explaining that she was shocked when Dwayne Johnson visited the show and shared everything he ate on his days off from dieting.

He said, “I sometimes do,” but added that as he gets older, he looks at certain foods as extra time spent working out.

25 Actors Who Regret Their Roles in Movies & TV

Not every actor likes to see themselves on screen – but some don’t even like to remember that they participated in a production altogether.

Over the years, many different stars have revealed in magazine interviews and through podcast and TV appearances that they don’t always love the movie and TV roles they took on in the past…even if the roles might be some of their most iconic and memorable works.

Sometimes, the stars have doubts about their performance. Or, they had poor experiences with their co-stars or directors. And in other cases, they just decided that the script wasn’t all that good looking back. In any case, they’ve all since come out and said they don’t necessarily love their appearances in certain films and TV shows.

Channing Tatum Opens Up About His 'Fear About Connecting' with His Daughter Everly

Channing Tatum is sharing his thoughts on parenthood.

The 40-year-old actor spoke with Parents about his first children’s book, The One and Only Sparkella.

Channing also discussed what it’s been like parenting his 7-year-old daughter, Everly, who he shares with ex Jenna Dewan.

“When I became a single father, I had a lot of fear about connecting to Everly in every way that a little girl might want,” Channing said. “I didn’t wear nail polish or know how to braid hair.”

“But now I do both,” he continued. “I jumped with both feet into this magical world, and I was rewarded with a kind of love that I don’t think I would have ever been able to have otherwise.”

“I want dads not to be afraid to go into their daughter’s world and discover who they are,” Channing said.

“I paint my face, I wear tutus — rarely am I around the house without some sort of costume on,” he added.

He echoed this advice in the book’s dedication, writing, “This is also for all Dads that might have a little girl … Wear whatever, dance however, and be as magical as you can. Because I promise they will return the love.”
