‘Heated Rivalry’: Biggest Differences Between Book & Season One Finale

The episode begins with Scott Hunter (François Arnaud) receiving his MVP award at the NHL Awards. In the episode, his boyfriend Kip (Robbie G.K.) is watching the awards show at a bar with his friends. However, in the epilogue of the Game Changer book, Kip is attends the awards show with Scott, and is sitting next to him when he wins the award.

In Game Changer, and also mentioned in the Heated Rivlary book, Scott and Kip go to a gay club after the awards show. Ilya shows up at the club and essentially reveals his sexuality to Scott without actually saying that he is bisexual. While the club scene isn’t featured in the episode, Ilya does mention that he spoke to Scott.

Also in the book, Shane emails Scott to acknowledge his bravery for coming out, but that was not mentioned in the show.
