Alan Bersten Breaks Silence on Replacing Val Chmerkovskiy on ‘DWTS’ This Week
Alan Bersten has made his first statement on replacing Val Chmerkovskiy for week six of DWTS.
If you don’t know, Val was suspended for one week over a post he made directed to Carrie Ann Inaba. You can see a full explainer of what happened here.
As a result of Val‘s suspension, his celeb partner Jenna Dewan needed a new dance partner for the week.
It was announced that Alan would be taking over for the week.
Alan was eliminated earlier in the season, and has stepped in temporarily while Val serves the suspension. Alan and Jenna will perform a Viennese waltz to “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers for Dedication Night. Her mom, Nancy, will also participate.
In his first statement since the news, he posted, “I am so honored to be stepping in and dancing with @jennadewan you are such a light and it’s so beautiful to see you and your mom share the floor.”
“Dedication Night” will see them “deliver heartfelt performances honoring the influential people and places that have shaped their lives,” and former DWTS pro and two-time mirrorball champ Kym Johnson returns as a fourth guest judge.
